Bhai Ajmer Singh's Speech About Sant Attar Singh Mastuana (January 31, 2016)

Sikh Historian Bhai Ajmer Singh addressed a gathering of the Sikh sangat at Mastuana during Samagams held in the memory of Sant Attar Singh Mastuana. I'm a little confused about Bhai sahib's comments on various sants that were totally a conspired creation of the British to alter the real ideals of sikhi. Even though there was a lot of baptism going on under the sants but it had different connotations of sikhi. It's quite shocking to see an intellectual like Bhai sahib making emotional statements. I really hope that I'm wrong about this.

I personally agree with your point of view. I assume that you see the events through the sants of today or even the so called followers of Sant Teja Singh. But Ajmer Singh Ji is focusing on the positivity of process. As he doesn't have time to discuss everything in totality. Please try to appreciate on his focus.

Barjinder Singh ..... I am a big fan of Bhai sahib's work. But we have handful of scholars to rely on correct information. A gursikh who is spiritual and equally emotional is not a strong enough character to withstand the test of time. He has to have a rock solid personality while big portion of Sikh nation is looking up to him for unbiased balanced sharp analyses and guidance.

Free Spirit I strongly agree with your point of view but we are to depend upon the availability. At least he helps us to understand the issues but doesn't force his ideas. Unfortunately the vast majority of Sikhs wants someone not only 3 or 4 in 1 but All in 1.

Its another shallow conclusion that Sants were planted by british raj. We must know what british colonialism and western philosophy influenced Sikh life soo much that we all interpreting Sikhi with this western education. Sants left british army when they realised that this is not the way to live life, but Sikhi kamao tey Sikh parchar karo, Sikh kamee inspired Gadri Babey and Sant Jarnail Singh (thats Bhai Ajmer Singh ji saying).

No one person can baptise/ give Amrit to any one . It has to be Jatha of PANJ PIYARAS ! He is fooling Sikhs by using Attar Singh;s name . Earlier Akali leader Tara Singh had been using Sant ji's name and fooled people ! he betrayed the Panth and made them slaves in Hindu India and also got them declared part of Hindus in terms of Art 25 !!!
