Cricketers like virat and Sachin Hardik and dhoni and all others earning in crores because of fan following and sponsorship if they r true sportsmen and support India and have patriotism and support sports shud invest to sponsor these budding stars in all Olympic Games be it archery , fencing ,javelin or whatever instead of making 100 crore 200 crore houses... That's becoming too selfish and self-centered and they got Lucky but they shud show their gratitude back to country through such sponsorship.. They will be even more loved and respected and will be seen as true heroes of the country and being sportsmen them self they will be an example for other sponsors.. And also people will start following the athletic games these cricket stars support and that game too will get famous and liked and will receive attention... Only then we can get more medals in Olympics... Otherwise never supporting athletes in their practise and infrastructure and never silupporting their game and just expecting medal is not fair and doesn't make sense...we make heroes of cricketers and make movies on them, r they supporting the sports and society and India truly so much in return to the love they get?

Not Sure about medal. But hope is that it should not be like Gymnatics. Deepa Karmakar performed well in olympics, but Gymnastics remains the same. So, unless Bhavani's feat is translated to a cultural movement towards fencing, with more young boys/girls taking to fencing in the age group 12-14 yrs, it will be a one off thing.

@@pradeepmca Fact is our Gymnastic Federation was banned which was revoked just 5 months ago. We don't know the infighting going on among federation presidents (held by mostly politicians). Now our Taekwondo federation going through some problems. Even in the last 4 years, our Boxing, Volleyball, and Archery Federation were banned for a small time.

In India Once a week we students would have a games period that'll last for about 40minutes. Most of the time our beloved math or science teacher would take it. So in a month about 2 games periods that's like 80min and India expects 100's of 🏅. We Indians need to promote sports more than anything....
