Truthfully, I've always preferred Quik's production over Dre's. He's made classic albums just like Dre, and produced classic songs for other artists. Now why isn't he held in the same high regards as Dre? Well for one he didn't have the machine him. Two, even though his music may be sonically as good as Dre's, was it groundbreaking or did it change/shift the culture like the NWA movement or The Chronic? Dre has turned people into superstars. Nawww…..Quik came out well before Deathrow records. Quik Is The Ñame came out in ‘91 I believe. He wasn’t under no Dr. Dre, tho in my opinion he’s up there equally with the Dr.
