Greg Street: Jay Z Picked Up $5M Meant For Outkast, Big Boi Would Be A Billionaire If Andre Would've... Andre Saved Big Boi's Life

i think this went over some people's head. There's a price to be a billionaire. Dre knew his price and stuck to it. And because of that, he has his peace and sanity.

Respectfully they wouldn’t have been a billionaire if they carried on doing the music. Hov didn’t get rich off music, if they were business minded they would make that money whether they doing music or not
@TheBlackNarrativeАй бұрын
@@eddy562 who said strictly music tho? Outkast left $50mil+ endorsement deals on the table alone over a decade ago. They just recently sold out the Outkast x falcons collection within a couple of hours last week. And they haven't dropped an album in years. We can agree to disagree, but I could see a billion.

Exactly. Blessings in disguise aren't focused on enough. We always talk about evil people and bad situations God has protected us from that we have seen but we don't discuss enough about the people and situations He's protected us from that came in the form of disappointments and failures. That or how He's protected us in other ways that we have absolutely no clue about.

So many people out here don’t have the mental capacity to process this and it shows. You all are focused on the money but not what comes with it. Money has a way of clouding your judgement. What Street is saying is at that time particular time Big Boi wasn’t ready to have that kind of money based on the way he was moving. It’s like being in the streets and getting money. When you finally get that first brick things change, money start doubling faster than it ever did. Then you start spending, being flashy and attracting the wrong kind of attention. When you should be looking for the way out.

You have no idea the kind of money Outkast generated at that time. You don't know the kinda of endorsements and show money that had lined up. It's not farfetched. Outkast would be a billion dollar group easily. A lot of the deals and opportunities Jay-Z & other big artists had then would've been theirs. Some actually were for them, as Greg Street just displayed. So, the term isn't being used "loosely" at all.

I’m not following how Big Boi and Dre would be in the billion net worth conversation. However, they did mis out on a great deal of album and tour money. That’s an ENTIRE FACT! Maybe that could have opened other, other doors which none of us know nothing of😎💪🏽

Look how long ago that was.. to be having bookings for THAT amount coming in. For years Big Boi has said how much money Andre has caused them to miss. And without that.... Outkast is still paid a LOT. So he is saying that Big Boi with all that MORE money probably would have ended up messing up somehow. Gregg St has known these guys since they came out. Ill take his word for it.
@-XFigureАй бұрын
Touring and doing shows at $2-5m/show.. 20yrs ago, the math on let’s say 100 shows is a possible half a billion alone. This doesn’t include merchandising, endorsements, new albums, acting cameos, partnerships, etc. Jay-Z commanding millions per show was a catalyst for him being to invest within and outside of music to become a billionaire. Idk how else to break it down, it’s all subjective 🤷🏽♂️

Big Boi is a long way from broke, he’s saying all money ain’t good money. 3000 basically stopped rapping 20 years ago and he still has a bag, without all the extra bs. Look at the scrutiny Jay gets, Kanye is a clown, Dr. Dre had to give his ex wife a big bag, puff well you know. All four of them had or has a bill and look what comes with that. A blck man with that type of bag becomes a target and most of the people aiming at them are US.

man I don't know about a billi but a couple hundred milli maybe. especially since the money is split 2 ways and you have an unwilling participant who wouldn't have said yes to half of the opportunities tossed their way. Love Street but its almost flagrant to say it was off the strength of 1 concert/movie that did it. It took a whole lotta work and investments for Jay to make a Billi in 2019. not to mention doors opened by Beyoncé's presence well before 2012. Business ventures: Jay-Z's wealth comes from a variety of business ventures, including: Acquisitions: Buying tech and media companies Investments: Fragrance and beauty companies Music: His music catalog Roc Nation: His media company Armand de Brignac: A champagne brand D'Usse: A cognac brand Rocawear: A clothing retailer he co-founded in 1999 40/40 Club: A luxury bar chain he founded in 2003 Tidal: A streaming service Uber: A stake in the company Real estate: Investment properties in New York and LA Art collection: A fine art collection that includes works by Jean-Michel Basquiat

With that said - i think he is exaggerating here, i dont think they would have hit billionaire status , and 2) i think Big Boi would have been just fine. Im sure Big Boi has been pissed at Dre for all the tens of millions that have been left on the table bc of Dre and how he moves.
