Yes, More mens hats please, not too fancy, basic ones for everyday wear. Worsted weight is great. I bought this pattern to make again and again. It was a hit with the guys at work this year. They all want another in a different colour. I used Beroco vintage worsted yarn. Perfect Guage.

Making this for my husband for Father's Day😊 I decided to take every bit of guidance offered here, but I am also tweaking it just the tiniest bit by making it double layer/ reversible. Ambitious, I'd say, as this is my very first knitted beanie. But your instructions are so clear that you've given me loads of confidence. Thank you!!❤

I am making hats for my whole team at work. I tried a few other designs before trying yours. Yours turned out by far cuter than the rest. The shaping looks so good and the design of the decreases blends so well into the pattern! I love it. My husband approves as well!😊 Thank you for sharing! 😍❤

@@crawlingagainstu I just did some math. I knew my gauge for bulky yarn with size 11 needles (10.5 st 15 r = 4”) and I wanted the hat to be 22.5” circumference by 8.25” tall so I casted on 64 & knitted 6.5”, then began my decreases on r 24. Finished on r 31. Hope this helps

@@lisamaranto353 and how did you decreas? you decreased for 7 round but the original pattern used 12 rounds for the decrease so you didn't adhere to the pattern there 🤔 How did you decide when and how much to decrease?

🥰 I love this tutorial!!! After reading through the comments, I don't see a repeat of my question, so I'll go ahead and ask - my circular needles have plenty of cord on them so do I have to switch? Or can I just pull the cord in the middle and split the round into two sides without transferring to different needles? I'm new to knitting so I have no idea if I'm messing up the pattern or not. 😁😉

It brings me joy to see another avid crochet as a flicker. I never could understand why seemingly “everyone” says that crocheters usually knit continental. Nope. 😁
@bhookedknitting2 жыл бұрын
Yes!! I tried continental at first because I thought it would be easier with my crochet background. Not for me! Flicking just feels like breathing. Now when I have to demonstrate continental I feel like I have two left hands 😂

Huh for some reason I’d never heard of the magic loop. I’ve always used double pointed needles when my circulars become impractical. And they’re a total pain to work with. I’ll have to give this shot!

I am interested in learning how to knit and I've looked at many KZbin videos but they don't zoom in so you can really see what there doing, and they go so fast in their teaching methods that I find myself a little lost and at the end frustrated. At that point I'm discouraged and kinda lose interest. I really hope your new channel will be totally beginner friendly and make the process of growth attainable. Congratulations on your new channel. Looking forward to learning knitting....Best of luck!!
@bhookedknitting2 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Angela! I do intend on keeping this channel beginner-focused, and breaking down concepts that are known to be tricky, in an easy way. Basically, very similar to what I do on the crochet channel, but for knitting!

I don’t know how to knit but would love to learn. I do crochet but am new at that as well. What would you recommend to buy as first knitting needles, and anything else I would need to start learning. The cast on looks harder to do then the stitches themselves, but I’m just guessing. Thank you for your help😊

My yarn suggests to use size 8 needles but I'm currently using my circular size 8 for another project, would I be able to use a different size needle or could I use my straight needles for this?
@bhookedknitting2 жыл бұрын
That's a really good question, Sara. Since the sizing of this project is important, it's best to use the needle size recommended in the pattern which is a US7, and that works out since your other project is using a bigger needle! If you were to use an 8 for this hat, it would turn out bigger in the end since the larger needle will create bigger stitches, and you'd have to worry about it not fitting as it should. Alternatively (for the sake of learning), if you used a US 6 the hat would turn out smaller, since the smaller needle makes smaller stitches. Hope this all makes sense, but let me know if you have any more questions!

Confuses as you said k3 p1 all through the rows yet you said after is knit the nits and pulling the pulls yet it doesn't go that way if you k3 p1 on both sides?
@bhookedknitting Жыл бұрын
Since this project is worked in the round, you’re always working in the same side (so no turning the work). Since that’s the case, the pattern stays knit 3, purl 1 👍

Couldn’t one just switch to a smaller cord instead like I have interchangeable so I generally knit myself onto a shorter and shorter cord all the way to a sock length instead it’s way less fiddling no offense. 😅
@bhookedknitting2 жыл бұрын
If you have shorter needles, that’ll absolutely work. In all of the sets I’ve seen, 16” is as short as it goes though. I haven’t run across a 9” interchangeable for socks, but I’ll have to keep an eye out.
