A lot of people tend to dislike the filler eps, but I think they do a pretty good job at giving the characters more depth. Especially in the Bisexual arc where Goku finally comes out to his friends and family, leading to Vegeta coming to grips with his sexuality. The arc ending with him using the room of spirits and time in order to train to defeat his prostate cancer was a powerful moment.

I really felt Vegeta came into his own when he had to tell trunks that he was going to leave Bulma to finally become his true self. The Queen of all Saiyans, gotta say Akira Toriyama really went all out on that scene. I never cried more, although afterwards I felt his pairing with Yamacha was out of left field you know? Ultimately it shows how strong of a bond Goku and Vegeta has since we all know that it was Goku who showed Vegeta how truly love himself in the Bisexual Arc
