I'm just getting into the whole booktube scene(don't know why I never thought us looking up books on KZbin before...), and you just got recommended. Just wanted to say thank you for doing this. I'm a gay guy, and it sometimes makes me sad that, as you said, most of the talk revolves around gay guys and lesbians. Over the last few months I've been trying to get better at reminding myself that the community is more than just us, but also includes a wide variety of other people. Plus, I absolutely love Stephen King and his universe, but I'm trying to take a break from him for a bit, so I'm definitely gonna check at least a few of these out. Hearing you talk about all boys aren't blue makes me think about something that happened when I was working in a preschool several years ago. It was play time and I was with a group of three little boys who were black. We were in the dress up section and one of them said he wanted to wear clip on earrings and the other two boys started telling him he couldn't wear them because "earrings are for girls." Literally all I said was "earrings are for anyone not just girls" and I swear 30 seconds later all three boys were wearing pink princess dresses and telling each other how nice they looked. They were having so much fun! We really need to allow boys and men, including and especially black boys and men, to be free and happy and stop policing everyone's gender identity and expression. So anyway, I'm excited that this book will be a TV show because maybe it will bring more people into engaging with these topics.

I read Wonderland by Juno Dawson this week which is a YA retelling of Alice in Wonderland with a trans pansexual girl as the main character. Juno Dawson is also a trans woman. I really loved the book, and as a cis reader I really felt like I learned a lot of things I hadn't know before about the daily struggles and the experiences that trans people have to go through. I really loved it and recommend! Thank you so much for this wonderful selection of books!
