All for reef is a maintenance all in one supplement of all major and minor elements. You have to use individual cal, mag and alk to tweak ...get in range, and then your All for reef will hold and maintain.

Do I need to dose ?im using natural saltwater

all for reef made reefing SO easy for me. i have a full sps tank and all i do is tweak my dosing when the corals uptake increases.

Would just do Alk. & Calc. separately. I Dose my Alk. using the powder form in my ATO and dose calc manually as needed. Like you I'm not looking for an exact number with my Alk. just trying to keep it in range of 8.1 - 9. Using it in the ATO like I do can vary the amount being dosed because it's based on evaporation. if it starts hitting closer to that 8.1 side I will do a small manual dose of the Alk powder (premixed with RODI) into the sump to give it a small boost. Or you could just add the Alk. mix into a doser lol. If you like DIY and cheap you could explore the baking powder method of dosing your Alk. as well 😄

baking powder alk method? lol never heard of that.. Thanks!

2 parts changes the salinity over time. i just do carbo calcium & kalk. tiny bit of magnesium hydroxide & trace elements once a week. alkalinity makes no sense, to me it means PH above 7. just have a PH meter on at all times. tweak the kalk to keep it around 8.5 PH. macro algae to use up the nitrates & phosphate

I use afr on a 75 with like 50% sps, ive never had issues with it at all, set it and check alk like once a month is all i do
@ryanwashington333019 күн бұрын
Side note though, I went straight to dosing AFR from kalkwasser, i think that once everything chills out a balance happens, and only then everything levels out, my alk went from 9.5 with high cal to 8-8.5 with 420 cal after 2 months, I'd do a tiny amount once you think your tank is ready, ride it out then make a judgement

dose anything else with it?

those would be my ideal numbers!

Doing a water change will balance out your levels. Then use the all for reef to maintain.

I see there’s some confusion on where to read the initial from. Even though the plunger has air beneath it, you are still using .1 of the titrant as the plunger moves down. So you should read from the plunger hope this helps!
@DreamStateLiving19 күн бұрын
the reading did seem to throw a monkey wrench lol. Yes I agree to ignore the air and still count the full, which I do. I was just saying you count how much trident was used not how much is left in the syring. According to the Red Sea video anyways lol idk

You might be better off just doing a few small water changes to get the alkalinity and calcium into range.

I'm a little confused as to why you are wanting to dose the nano? There's not much in there for consumption. If you wanted to dose (which is not necessary) you would need to do a big water change to level out those parameters before you added all for reef. I would say just do routine water changes and you'll never really have to dose that tank if it's full of softies and a few lps..

See I was dosing AFR and my Cal was crazy sitting at 550 😂 ALK was 9.4 Mag was 1405 so I stoped now 2 weeks bringing everything down with water changes then I’m going with Kalk . I feel it will be better but will see 🤦🏻♂️🤷

I would say your test kit is wrong or you improperly tested. AFR adds calcium formate and is dosed according to calcium levels.

I think you're reading the Alk reading in the syringe incorrectly. You said 0.44 but the actual reading was 0.53. You should be reading where the plunger in the syringe is, not where the liquid is. At least that's how my Red Sea test kit states. Calcium reading was incorrect due to same mistake
@DreamStateLiving20 күн бұрын
that would be reading how much of the syring is left, not how much is used. * I think *
@b3astmod34120 күн бұрын
@@DreamStateLivingyou have to flip the plunger and read the remaining. So calcium is 0.44, not 0.56. Hope that’ll help.
@DreamStateLiving20 күн бұрын
your test kit may be different than mine, my cards say "trident used" for the reading number.
