Thank you for always trying new products! I have tried 2 versions from this line with drastically different results but both amazing! The vanilla line smells amazing, produces soft curls but not as much shine. Coconut oil line is perfect for my 2b-2c curls...hydrated, no frizz, shiny!

Personally the Maui curl smoothie worked better than the shea moisture curl smoothie the shea moisture one made my hair super frizzy and it would get super dry by the end of the day. Maui really defines my curls so much better and it really gave my hair tons of moisture as well andI just got it yesterday.

be aware that this brand itself isnt just for curly hair, it is free of all the bad stuff but its generally for all hair types except for the specific curly line. if your hair isnt good with non curly hair based products be weary. i personally am able to use straight hair based products and my hear feels perfectly fine

Sometimes I find the Maui curl smoothie a little heavy, so if you want something lighter I would try using the mask as a leave-in like it says on the jar. Both moisturize and define wonderfully but the smoothie is thicker. I also detangle with the mask instead of the normal conditioner. The Maui Moisture Mask has great slip and is probably my favorite hair product right now.

Tbh I used to think my hair was naturally dry and knotty ever since I started wearing it natural but I realized that the Cantu products I’ve been using have made my hair feel more dry than usual. The leave in conditioner repair cream has made it especially hard to detangle my hair when it comes to wash day.

Love their shit, it works great on my hair! Curl smoothie & the hair mask are awesome, whether or not my hair is wet/dry they completely absorb into my hair; no residue on my hands nor my boyfriend's! Plus it leaves my curls defined, frizzy free, soft, & hydrated! The smells are also lovely, a bit strong for some, but I enjoy that it sticks to my hair for a few days. PS. You're curls are gorgeous! I've been trying these for two months and my hair looooooves them. I've using the shea butter line and was sceptical at first because a lot of other natural didn't like the way it absorbed in their hair, but I just went and got them anyway. I love it! I’ve started swimming every week, and was using the Shea moisture JBCO line but the chlorine was drying out the back of my hair, I saw the pink bottles of the Shea Maui line and so far I love it!! Cheaper and my hair is more moisturised.

I love, love, love this brand. It's the only thing that keeps my long, midback length hair detangled. I've tried so many detanglers that I had pretty much given up on them and resigned myself to a long life of never wearing my hair down. I tried Maui Moisture because I am pretty much a product junkie at this point and wasn't completely happy with the natural shampoo and conditioner I was already using. I work at a grocery store and had been eyeing and smelling the stuff for weeks before finally giving in and trying it. I was so surprised by how well behaved my hair was when it dried. I kept running my hands through it because I couldn't believe that it was actually letting me. I hadn't even added anything on top of just the shampoo and conditioner; it stayed mostly detangled on its own and if it did tangle (it's too long not to), finger detangling was a breeze. I think my hair likes the aloe vera (it was the only ingredient in the product line that I HADN'T tried on my hair). I ended up buying the curl smoothie for frizz control and I alternate that with the Shea Moisture Frizz Mousse; my hair does well with both. Disclaimer: I'm wavy, not curly, so take my praise with a grain of salt if you're in the 3-4 hair range. But if you know your hair likes aloe vera, then you should consider giving this line a try. It all smells great, even the vanilla and coconut products (I usually really hate the smell of both), and you can find them pretty much anywhere now.

The maui moisture smoothie I wash my hair first than while damp I use a small amount rub on hand to add on my bottom hair edges than all over my hair. I let it air dry naturally once dry I finger comb and use a bit a hair comb than I add a bit more of maui moisture smoothie like a half of dime and add to my hair again quench it and style. I see more define curl and bounce and volume.

I'm kinda sensitive to smells and I bought the coconut milk one because she said it has a 'light smell'.....it doesnt. It's very overwhelming...doesn't really smell coconut-y or tropical to me just...a vague overwhelming smell, the vanilla bean one I got is way better though so if you're sensitive to smells or prone to headaches from smells stay clear of the coconut milk one 😅😅😅 I also have the curl smoothie which has a very fresh...actually pretty light scent I honestly didnt think I would like it much but it's really nice and the texture is really good too

i’ve used the smoothie about three times. i didn’t think i used too much, but, it left my hair feeling very greasy. i have very high porosity, so i was so surprised that it didn’t do me any good. also, it definitely did not work for my friz!!!! not at all. however, after sleeping the same night, when i woke up my curls were so defined! not sure how i feel about this product yet but this video definitely makes me want to try again!

As a newbie to the curly girl way with 2a-2b hair, I found this shampoo and conditioner really changed my life.... even without plopping, one day I woke up to find the cutest ringlet framing my face. I ran to show everyone in my house. Lol I also died of laughter when she showed him much of the conditioner she used up. Last time I restocked I bought one shampoo and 2 conditioners. I started using the curl shampoo/conditioner a couple weeks ago and I really like them! I think I"m going to try that mask out next because as much as I love my sample of the Briogeo one, I can't afford $46 for it right now lol. Thanks for reviewing the line! :D

I loveee the maui curl smoothie WAYY MORE than the shea moisture enhancing one. Maui is my go to, then shea moisture.

Good comparison to the Cantu on the cream.... I agree having used both of them. :) They have a 50% more same price going right now on end bases at the store. Can't beat that.!
