I live in a family that has wavy or straight hiar. No one has curly hair like mines. So when I say something like, I need specific shampoos and conditioners they roll their eyes and say it's fine and that my hair won't fall out. but one day I visited a friend who had natural hair and we did our hairs. the next day my parents were like,OMG ITS SO GORGEOUS. but they won't buy me anything expensive. I mean, at least I have something

Isn't it so annoying that you just want the best for your hair, my family has wavy and curly haired people yet no one teaches how to take care of my wavy hair atleast cause all of them got one solutions to tame your curly or wavy hair, STRAIGTHEN IT!!! I've only just chemically straighten my hair 2 times in my whole life, now i'm embracing my curls and waves but my mom keeps criticizing my hair and touching it when i'm airdrying that's annoying

My mom has curly hair, and dyes and puts heat on it. She buys any shampoo. She thinks it doesn't matter what it is, so I'm buying her sulfate and silicone free shampoo and conditioner, leave in conditioner, protein treatment, and a deep conditioner.

Dollar general! Use shea moisture or herbal essence or aussie! Use aloe vera sometimes! Try to sell some old clothes or sell candy at school to make extra bucks and go on a haul to a beauty supply store or a dollar general and tell them to stop being such dicks and to respect ur curly hair because it takes work and money.

You are extremely intelligent, also very charming and personable when you give advice. I have recommended your station to so many people, who have admired my curls since I have followed your instructions. Thank you for all you do for us curly haired girls. I am white, Jewish with a background of family from Eastern Europe (Austria, and Poland) and one grandparent from Ireland. Curly hair runs in my family, and when I was younger, I should have bought stock in products to straighten the hair, since curly hair was not in fashion back then. I grew up in the N.J., where there is only humidity in the summer, so I was able to keep my hair straight. For the past 40 years I live in SE Fla, and wear my hair curly. Prior to your help, it was constantly frizzy, and now my curls are great. Thank you so much for everything you have taught me.

I think you should have added a disclaimer with the "deep conditioner in hot water" tip. Usually deep conditioners come in a tub type of container and the way you use it is to just go in and grab a glob with your hands/fingers. This in itself can be a little unsanitary (nothing too bad), but repeatedly raising the temperature of your DC seems like it would create a little bit of a bacterial breading place. So I think you should definitely add something like: if you are going to try this tip, put the amount of DC you want to use in a separate container than the original tub and warm it up that way. Much love

Thanks so much for bringing this up! Just to clarify, I meant putting the conditioner in a hot water bath or double boiler, similar to how you'd melt shea butter or coconut oil without popping it in the microwave. Pump or scoop a little out into a plastic or glass bowl, then place it on top of a cup or second bowl that's filled with hot water. This method is better for gentle heat, but if you just want to hurry up - 10-15 seconds in the microwave will do the trick :)

Your length is looking so pretty. I have had good results using the Evolve Platinum Deep Conditioning Cap. It is at Sallys, or Target on-line and costs $2-$5. I put it on, sometimes clean, or maybe light exercise for 20-30min. Your body heat and its special coating heats up naturally. I can use it 4 times maybe before the coating wears thin. I just rinse, dry. and re-use. You can line it with a cheap plastic (like hotel freebie) shower cap if you prefer. Just wanting to help those of us on a budget. :)

Bianca, love the info. A friend of mine got a fungus in her scalp and hair loss from leaving a large size in the shower. Be careful heating up the whole product and where you store it. So true about checking ingredients instead of assuming based on price/label! I started a weekly thread on NaturallyCurly.com where we compare two products just by their ingredient list. Determining which is high end and which is drug store is a popular topic. We also determine what type of products they are based on ingredients and which ones are going to be more moisturizing. The knowledge share from these threads have been so invaluable!

Thank you for caring & sharing, guess I've been doing this wRoNg, by this video... I do my weekly oils combined with olive, grapeseed, avocado, Orange oil & almond oils etc., then add Argan & sometimes Jojoba to my scalp/hair, then spritz some water with conditioner to get my hair wet, then put wet towel in microwave for about 60 seconds on each side, then put on my head IF not to HOT, then I put a shower cap/bag over that, then I have 2 towel HOT & in my dryer, then put 1 of the dry hot towel on my head for about 10-15 minutes, then switch to the other HOT towel in the dryer, then throw the cooled off towel back in the dryer & repeat for 2 hrs. Then I take all off of my head, comb with wide tooth comb & let dry, then add more oils & massage into scalp/hair, then sleep in this all night, then gently shampoo/low poo, then conditioners added... My hair has gotten so soft, totally AMAZING & so WELCOMING & NEEDED... Take care 💞🎵🌷🌺 🌸 😆 👏 👍 💫 🌟 💛

I can't wash my hair every week. I have scalp psoriasis and used to wash my hair with medicated shampoo every week 1/2. In doing so my hair didn't grow and was dry and fragile. Ive noticed since using African Black Soap on my hair, and only washing it once a month my hair has flourished. I do braid outs and remoisturize my hair weekly. I might incorporate deep conditioning into that weekly though. So in closing some of us can't wash weekly lol.

I would suggest always rinsing your hair with water after going to the pool or beach and then putting in some leave in conditioner or a little bit of conditioner I also put conditioner in my hair before going to swim so the pool/sea water and sun doesn't dry out my hair too much Hope that helps!♡

I don’t believe in “washing your hair once” especially not in summer. If your hair is DIRTY wash it! when I come out of the pool / beach , I put my hair in a deep conditioner for atleast 30 min , if it’s late I keep it in over night , and then I rinse the deep conditioner, wash my hair , and condition it. If I still have to go somewhere , I leave my hair with the deep conditioner because with my 3b / 3c hair , the longer I keep it in the better my curls would look the next day.

I don’t know why but I’ve tried 2 of their shampoos and conditioners (moisture retention and curl and shine) and their deep conditioner (Jamaican black castor oil) and none of them worked for my hair. The shampoo/conditioners left my hair feeling dry and the deep conditioner worked like the first 1 or 2 times then it left my hair poofy. I keep seeing shea moisture recommended but I’m scared to try their other stuff when none of the products have worked for me. I have 2b/2c/3a hair that’s VERY frizzy and dry. I have high porosity hair.

aale10 Your hair is similar to mine. I do not use the SheaMoisture products you mentioned because I don’t think they would be right for my hair. Would you be willing to try the Manuka Honey and Yogurt line? It has only four items. I like it a lot. If you don’t like it, I believe Ulta will return the items within a certain time period. And on occasion they have 20% off. I also use the coconut line and the peace rose from SheaMoisture. This company has transformed my hair.

I need help. I been getting relaxers from a young young age. Probably started around 9-11yrs old. I’m 22 now. Think my last relaxer was sometime in 2020 not too long ago. But long enough to where I’m looking raggedly. I don’t want to big chop I would like to transition. But I hear different information with transitioning. Like (washing the hair every week/ deep conditioning every week/ hair mask every week, not sure if deep condition and hair mask are the same. But then I hear “protective” hair styles are suppose to be left in for a month minimum at a time or more to actually see “new growth”.) so I’m here like well what do I do? Do I wash, deep condition, hair mask every week? Or. Do I wash deep condition, hair mask one good time before putting my hair in cornrows for weeks at a time? (I’m fine with cornrows without a wig on tbh. I wear silk-satin scarf while at work for 10plus hours everyday anyways. And my understanding is as long as the cornrow isn’t tight tight. It should be safe) sooo what to do ?? 😿 thanks in advance And should I wash braids? Is that a thing? How so if I should? Do I deep condition my braids? Apply leave in to braids? Ya girl need help please

Dry hair tends to be more frizzy and broken hair also destroyes the look. Deep conditioning can help with dryness and breakage. But you will also need a styling product that will keep the curls intact. Try a gel or mouse or creme depending on your curl type 😊

Do you deep condition every wash day? What’s the difference between normal conditioning on wash day? Are you supposed to deep condition every wash day?

Glad I already live with these do's and don'ts Haha. I love to deep condition once a week and do face masks/scrubs. It's like a spa day. Being protein sensitive is not great. I still switch up my deep conditioners every couple times but stylers with protein can make my hair feel dry and crunchy so I have to maintain a good balance. A video on that would be great! 😊#curlygirl #snapfam

How does deep conditioning work on like type 2A/2B hair? Wouldn't weekly conditioning weigh the hair down?
