My size 50 Oltre XR4 with Dura Ace 9150, EE direct mount brakes, Vision Metron 5D integrated handlebar, Sells Italia SLR Tekno saddle, and Bora Ultra 50mm clinchers is 14.9-lbs! Incredible bike!

I have a Vision metron 5d ACR hadlebar complete kit for sale 110mmx40cm. (I can't use the ACR on my Infinito CV - sad)

You've just pushed me over the top! Yes, I've been evaluating changing my Canyon Aeroad out for the last 2 months and looked at dozens of options including the Oltre. Friend of mine is an Sworks Tarmac fanatic and he has been trying to steer me towards that, but my gut feeling all along has been the Oltre, in fact just come back from discussing it with my local lbs. Looks like I'll be putting in an order for it this afternoon. 🥳

Thank you for taking the time to review your Bianchi Oltre XR4 your video confirmed my opinion about it. I ride a Colnago C50 for the last 10 years now and I am ready for a change.

Glad you're okay, Tacoma Cyclist! For quite a while, I started sticking to rail-trails when I ride because of all the texting and driving. But now I am back on the road but very cautious. One thing I see with many roadies is they aren't stopping at stop signs, I do. I also keep earbuds out of the ear while riding. I want to hear what might be barreling towards me so I may be able to free myself from danger! That looks like a very nice bike - I tend to be stuck on Treks for now... Glad to see you fellas back and well! :)

Thanks! It's going slow and there's still lots of pain, but mostly just when walking. Riding is actually easier (except getting out of the saddle - still pain there). Moral of the story - cars will always win in a battle. :-(

Very Nice review. Waiting on my '19 Infinito CV disc to arrive for a couple months now. I should be one of the 1st builds of the redesign in the states once it finally gets here. You like the lizard skins tape? Thinking of going that route because I gotta go celeste tape.

Great bike! I have the XR3. My first road bike ever which I purchased 2 months ago and absolutely no regrets. Except one, after all the upgrades i have made so far, I should of gone with the XR4. Oh well :)
@Cat3ForLife4 жыл бұрын
The XR3 is still an amazing bike. It's definitely no slouch. As I plan my purchase for the Boogeyman's next bike, the XR3 is at the top of the list.

Thanks! I'll have some new videos up soon. It's been a heck of a year - after getting utterly destroyed by a car and then completely rebuilding my fitness after that... It's been fun. More coming soon!

Good to see you two are doing well and back in the game. What are the chances you're doing a review on the bike I'm "looking" at (Orca Aero is more my price range, particularly in the races around my neck of the woods) Quick couple of questions What saddle height do you run? Did you think about the metron 5d? (any reasons for not going with it) Keep up the good work and cheers for the time taken
@Cat3ForLife6 жыл бұрын
Great questions. First, I'd love to review the Orca Aero. It was the other bike I was considering when I built this one up. I'll reach out to Orbea. (FWIW, that orange themed track bike in the back is the Boogeyman's Orbea track bike). I'll have to get back to you on the saddle height thing. I'll put my whole measurement setup in the comments here. It looks like a tall saddle to bar drop, but that really is the geometry of this bike. I happen to be fortunate and very flexible, so being low isn't an issue for me. However, you'll likely see the tall stack of spacers on top. Until I really have it dialed in, they'll stay there. Though I haven't had any issues so far with the drop. For the Metron 5D, I just have this HUGE issue with integration of things where separate, modular, standardized components exist in the same market space. That being said, I am sponsored by FSA so I may pick up a set sometime just to give them a go. Especially after I get my stem length dialed. Cheers!

Do you know what tool I need to adjust the height of my Bianchi 1987 racing bike? It does not have a lever... looks like a screw with a round hole in it. Thanks

That was one of the two options at the time. However, you can also custom paint your Bianchis through their website.

What do you think of the new tarmac?
@Cat3ForLife6 жыл бұрын
I've honestly not tried it, though I'm very anxious to do so. Folks that I know who have used it say it retains the "angry all the time" attitude of the previous Tarmac but is more comfortable and definitely more aero.

What's the combo mount do you have on the bike?
@Cat3ForLife5 жыл бұрын
In this video, it's the BarFly Max - barflybike.com/collections/road-bike-mounts They have a variety that has the GoPro below and Wahoo above. I've since moved to the FSA Vision 5D integrated bar and stem combo and have modified that mount.
@tekesbur5 жыл бұрын
TacomaCyclist thanks. Bars were gonna be my next question:) looked like Zipp to me when I watched the video. I have Garmin. Planning to go aero bars on my new TCR. Sorry about the crash and glad you are back on the bike again. I checked Oltre’s geometry and largest size has even lower stack than my XL sized TCR. Maybe they have a larger size if I buy frame only. But it’s a pretty good build you have there. Stay safe out there.

Over a year now, how has it held up? How do you like the matte paint job?

I'm still loving the bike! I just genuinely can't imagine riding anything different. If anything ever happens to it, I'll replace it with whatever the newest version of the XR4 is.
