This is a good helpful video. I have been playing on these amps for years. They can be a pain when they go down. I always take a B2R on the road as a back up. But, when they are working they are great. Nothing sounds like this amp recorded on tape. The tips in this video can really help you get the most life out of your tubes.

my svt-cl won't bias on the right side. the red led will come on, and the red led will go off as i roll it away, but it wont turn green. the left side bias' fine. i just replaced all the power tubes and still same problem. i read some resistor problems may be the issue. any suggestions?

I am having a similar problem now. From what I've been reading online it seems resistors could be the problem. Did you ever resolve this issue?

When adjusting bias, is it best to have the amp set to performance volume (but on standby) or does it not matter where the gain is set just as long as the tubes have had time to warm up?

I have a question. My left bias won't bias out. The red LED stays on but there's no green LED. When I try to roll off the red LED it goes out but there is no green LED as there should be. So my questions are; Is there something wrong with my amp? Should I bring it to a tech? is my amp safe to play in it's current state. Any feedback would be great!

I like how Ampeg doesn’t respond to this question - my son’s amp is showing the same problem as yours... did you get yours repaired - if so, what was the solution?
@GenericWhiteMale563 жыл бұрын
@@Phil_Trujeque I took it in to my buddy that repairs Amps. If I remember correctly I had blown some internal electronics. If that's happening to your sons amp dont mess with it and just take it in to be repaired.

Tube has broken and destroyed the 220 ohm screen grid resistor. Follow pin 4 and you will find the one.

Hello, it does not show like doing it in the SVT VR, this apmlificador has only one led green and a third adjustment that is balance

Thanks for this helpful video! I'm new to tube amps so this is great. One question--at the start you say to have the amp connected to a 2 or 4 ohm speaker. I have an Ampeg 410HE which is 8 ohm. Can I use that or will it be a problem? Thanks.
@jamesgritman54777 жыл бұрын
R.D. Dragon the minimum load is 4 ohms, so a single cab rated for 8 ohms should not be run by itself with this amp. You could run two or four 8 ohm cabs, but not just one. Hope this helps

Question: I replaced all 6 of my power valves (but not the drivers) and after a few weeks one went dead. Tung Sol obviously sent out a dud. So now do I need to replace all 6 with a matched sextet or can I just replace the shit Tung Sol? Thanks!

I used my amp as a DI box and recorded a song. How would I know if I damaged the output transformer?
@dinomono3 жыл бұрын
Plug it into a speaker cabinet. If it makes sound, you're good. If no output, the output transformer is toast

At 2:31 the information you give in the video about under and over-biasing is the complete opposite of what the owner's manual says on the second to the last paragraph on page 9. Tighten up.

At 2:31, I'm only demonstrating what happens to the LEDs when you UNDERBIAS the amp.

beefhogrecords He explains that the red led means it's over biased. Are you deaf or watching without volume?
