Jared, a successful businessman, was a significant part of Trump’s election success in 2016 and Ivanka, an economist, is also a successful businesswoman. The likelihood that Trump would do other than strongly support Israel is zero!

One of the core points is if Israel didn't do this Lebanon ceasefire deal the UN Sec Council was going to ram a ceasefire down its throat. But the US can veto any such resolutions. Q: Do we know if the US was threatening to not veto future UN ceasefire resolutions if Israel didn't do the Lebanon deal? I see the US recently vetoed a draft ceasefire resolution for Gaza on Nov. 20th.

The US was not going to veto any move by the UN yo sanction Israel, which is why Benjamin Netanyahu was forced into this deal/truce. Biden will be out of office before the truce ends, so it doesn't matter anyway.

What I find interesting is that Trump comes to power 5 days before the ceasefire expires, meaning that Israeli troops can stay in Lebanon until January 20, after which Trump could potentially renegotiate or redefine the agreement in Israel's favour, allowing Israeli troops to stay in Lebanon to enforce the agreement.

Israel cannot withdraw from Lebanon. Hezbollah is unlikely to comply with the deal and neither will the LAF. As long as Israel responds to this forcefully and doesn’t leave as a result, we can run out the Biden clock. The pressure to cease fire will likely cease under Trump. This is indeed a reversible. And we need to free up the Air Force to hit the nuclear program. This has always been Bibi’s primary goal.
