New stuff releases endorphins, which makes us feel good. That feeling can become an object of desire, which might equate to spiritual in some people’s lives. Re: sermon notes. I take all my notes on my iPad so I write down everything that catches my intention plus all scripture references. Then I reread & transfer to my Bible what seems most important. In a separate document, I write out by hand all the scripture references, mark those references in my Bible, indicating which sermon they came from. I have a sermon folder on my iPad. All the writing & rewriting helps me remember better. And I often go back & do word studies & check commentaries for parts I don’t understand.

I just received a really good lesson about money during the past 3 mos. I was told April 2nd that June 28th would be my last day of work. Owner sold business. No severance promised. Today, the last day, we were told our severance package (and it’s good). On top of that, I was offered 2 jobs. God is good and always on time - His time, not mine. God has always provided for me, I’ve always worked. I believed He would do it again. Still there was some anxiety but not knowing is not easy. Great Birthday give. It reminded how much He loves the widow.

Yes. Praying and celebrating the Word as a family is everything. I always say when people tell me that they don't need a Church to pray.;I say, yes, but "where two or three are gathered in my name, there I am in the midst of them." Matthew 18:20.

Same. I came here to see what/how other people take notes during sermons. I always want to write everything down which becomes very time consuming - although I feel that when I write things down, they’re also printed into my memory. I’ve always been like this when it comes to notes - school, work, workshops etc. Once I write it down, I don’t go back to it as a reference as much, because after I write it down - I feel that I can remember things better. Idk if I am alone in this. I’ve always been none as a “note taker”, pretty much all my life. But I do feel that my desire to write everything down, can reduce the meaning over the overarching application, as she mentioned in the start of the video. Thank you for sharing this! ❤ 🙏🏼

Mixed feelings on this one... I've been going Bible crazy lately and wanting to buy so many different study Bibles. lol What's been helping curb superfluous spending lately is our family planning to make a big move, but realizing it's not financially possible... And then remembering it's not about our plans, but what God has planned for us, and if that happens to include a version of this move, we'd best get everything paid off in preparation! If God says, "now," we don't want to be in a position to answer, "ooh, not a good time"

For example, last year my dad was in the hospital every month for something new and when he'd be released I would take care of him until he was capable of doing it himself. Well, he couldn't and by October I had to place him in a senior living facility. We don't have the room and his needs are GREAT. Not only do I have MY stuff but now I will have to go through his stuff(I will be selling his stuff in order to help pay for his care). Now I continue to go with him for his appointments especially his oncology ones.

Faith, after watching other people Bible journaling, I’m realizing that what you’re doing (and what I do as well) is not so much journaling but extensive, albeit colorful/fun, note taking. I heard a paper crafter KZbinr describe Bible study vs Bible journaling as two separate things. That after you had studied and taken notes, that you could then “journal” a page getting very creative and scrappy/artsy, almost like an outpouring of what you’ve learned typically focusing on one verse or theme. Personally I’d rather get that artsy in a prayer journal or something just because I’d rather save my Bible pages for notes. I like what you do better but I’m not sure it’s true journaling as it’s being defined elsewhere. I don’t know, what do you think? 🧐
