You're so welcome. There are so many ways to journal, so many conversations to have. Sometimes we just need a bit of structure to keep us going. I love that PRAY acronym. Thrilled to have found you! My late husband was a pastor so I've just always been a Bible Journaler. My gratitude journal is separate. After reading Ann VosKamp's "1000 Gifts" I just kept going and am just shy of 9,700 entries. My actual journal I call "Love Letters to the Bridegroom." I wish I had known all you do when I was younger, but my setup works great for me and after 50 years (January 24th) it has been a lifetime of learning. Blessings as you continue on YOUR journey! Mine has been life-giving.

The amazing thing is I went through a very hard time a few years ago and without realizing it a formed a routine of taking care of myself: working out, eating, resting, family time, taking personal development courses, reading my Bible and journaling. The breakthrough was crazy! But I’ve been inconsistent and trying to find my way back. Recently God reminded me specifically how i used to journal and I started it back up this year turns out we have similar ways of journaling!! This is an encouragement!!! I just started scripture writing. I write down each verse and then take a few minutes to write down what the scripture means to me. Thank you! This is so freeing!!! I have a journaling notebook that I got recently that has “pre planned” stuff and it’s driving me nuts. I decided this morning to toss it and get a plain notebook. Then I get on KZbin and find the other channel that is all the doodles and colors, etc. and it’s so overwhelming that I thought “no way can I figure that out.” And then there you were!!! i just got my hobonichi and is intending it as a Bible journal 2025. By God's grace I will read the entire bible in 2025. I came across this video and this is perfect. Thank you for the information I will apply some of these ideas in my Bible I have a wide margin That's what I use my wide margin Bibles for Notebooks are fine for at home. But when you travel it's more convenient to have it all in one book In my case 4 Bibles 2 are study Bibles 1 is my Sunday School/ worship Bible 1 is my prayer/reading Bible getting a wide margin,more room to write in😊

I agree,ive never written in my NLT bible,i write in a separate leather bound book with a leather strap to wrap around and tie around the book,and the pages are thick like 4-5 pages in one and its like a sandy colour paper.Feels holy,sounds silly but it does.I record stand out from the chapters,and i also write quotations and verses i like.Simular to my prayers in the morning and at night,which is another story in itself,i will say and kalea knows this.I read Psalm 23 at least 3 times and let it soak in and sit back in my chair and close my eyes and feel what im saying,what im reading...Works for me.God bless...

@@hiswordmywalk Thanks,yes i dont like to see bibles treated like that.its not right,my daily prayers,and personal journal is connected in a way that i do it.I have a few journals,a small pocket book favouriyte traditional hyms,and Psalms for the methodist and my NLT bible in a leather cover and then my medieval stle leather cover,thick page book.Really nice that as well,i try to write as neat as possible.Being english the spellings different to yours proberbly but still...well,im on chapter 14 ion luke,chapter 5 on mathew and chapter 6 on mark...then im on chapter 2 romans just finished paul and all his letters of wisdom.Take care kalea,and wear the maple leaf! 🍂 (Only Symbol i could find)

So today Nov 24th …. Manitoba had another snow day. This means limited travel. Our sister in Christ , who was scheduled to run our youth Sunday school class was snowed in. I was willing to step up, however I had nothing planned. So after a quick prayer, I zipped to the dollar store bought 8 journals and some coloured pens. Thank you Kaela for our Sunday school lesson. The youth enjoy modern videos….. Yep the student’s lesson was this video and new books and a pen to start their journey. Looking forward to collecting the evidence !!!!

As usual, you make journaling sound so exciting! What holds me back is that I am not a good writer. I’m not eloquent with my words. I have tried journaling feelings in the past, and I ended up judging myself on the poor quality. It’s so silly because I’m not a professional writer so why do I expect myself to write like one?!?

Oh you're not alone in those thoughts at all either. I think sometimes this is why I am curious about and bring up Paul's letters. Like, there's no way he thought his personal letters would be read by billions of people. Then I'm like, "Oh Gosh, what if someone goes through and reads these sometime?" Well, I guess they'll also have a vault of evidence of who God is!!!! *just like Paul's letters for us🙌🏼

@@Mel59841 Oh I totally understand that. I even referenced it in the video I think. But at the end of the day (and the beginning of the day for me 😉), my open time with God, my growth with Him, that HAS TO BE top priority. I was flipping through journals even prepping for this video and saw some prayers that I would love for others not to see, yet if they do, all they know is that I've been praying for a LONG TIME. The bottom line is that if it's something that will grow my relationship with God, I can't worry about that. AND, find a safe place to keep them if you're worried about that ❤

never thought of the Bible Journal as a “collection of evidence” of God’s goodness and mercy… come to think of it, when the enemy comes they present false evidences to us.. (pains, hurts of the past, our past mistakes, who we are before coming to Jesus) so yeah!! why not present an evidence, slap it in the enemy’s face and show / present as well of how good and powerful God is then, now and forever!!! this is powerful! I watched this video (among others on the same subject) because I am trying to figure out if there could be some benefit for me to do bible journaling. To be honest, the thought of writing in any of my books makes me cringe, and the idea of writing in any of my bibles is even worse. That being said, if I could see how this might help me with my bible studies, I think I could manage the cringe part of the procedure, most likely with your solution of a specific type of book meant for journaling. While your video was pretty thorough, and you mentioned several things you do when you write in your own journal, I'm not getting the sense that this would be useful to me. My big question is why? Why would I take precious time spent in His Word to write down things I already know? How will writing these things down help me understand His Word any better than actually studying it? That is the answer I seek about bible journaling, and the one that, of the dozen or more "beginner" videos I've watched, has not yet been answered. Several of the women in my weekly bible study do bible journaling and they can't explain it either. It seems everyone has their own answer to "why", and none of them make sense for me. If you can shed any light with an answer, I'd appreciate it. I'm so confused! Thanks for taking the time to read this.

You may have answered your own question ☺️ Maybe it's not for you, or at least not in this season! I, personally, do not journal every day, and do not ALWAYS journal while I'm spending time with God in His Word. Often it's a separate time. Often it's ANOTHER way of spending time with God for me. The why is personal. But like I shared, collecting the evidence for me has been pretty amazing. I love to look back at what I wrote, what the Holy Spirit showed me personally on certain days, what I praised God for, what I prayed for, how I was feeling... and use my own testimony to defeat some of the strategies of the enemy. Again, it may not be for you, or for you in this season ❤️

@@hiswordmywalk I think you're probably right. I was getting so frustrated thinking there was some reason for bible journaling that annoyingly evaded me that I didn't consider that, for me, there is no reason to do it. Thanks for getting me back on an even keel!

So how do you start i have read 3 different translations but I read through it like a book not like I'm finding i should read through it i want to know god so I need to understand him and I want to hear him and know it's god so how do I start do I get a journal then what do I write prayers requests or my day I mean how do I go about this it's confusing any help to start i see you have a bootcamp but I don't know if im even at that point yet

I write: Good Morning God Good Morning Jesus Good Morning Holy Spirit! Your video just came up on my feed. Amazing the things God does for us even when we don’t ask. I was going to try praying the scripture and I still want to do that but since I journal so much I’ll stick with that for now. I’m going to give your method a try. I haven’t had much success with other efforts so I’m hopeful this will meet my needs. Thank you for sharing what you know. God has said in a couple of places that he will be a husband to the widow. I found myself in that category in 2021. ThankfullyI have been able to live with my som and his wife. But God has definitely shown that he is indeed a husband to the widow. I wish there was another term for that. I think of spiders when I hear the name widow!
