Yes!! This is my first time notating my Bible this way and even in the last few months I've grown so much in spirit and knowledge so I may not write the same things. But if something tugs at my heart and/or mind I'm going to write it. Imagine how much of a treasure this would be in years to come when you can look back and see where you were spiritually. Make sure you fill out your dedication page in the front so you at least know the date when you started using it.

When i was 8 yrs old in 1959 Santa Claus left me a gorgeous white Bible with my name imprinted on the front. I treasure my Bible deeply. When i got older and could actually start understanding what certain verses meant i would circle them with a red ink pen. As the years passed the red ink started bleeding thru becoming worse as time went on. I was crushed that i had damaged my beautiful Bible. Some more time went on and one day when i opened it i was HORRIFIED to find someone had massively scribbled circles in ink extensively thru out, effectively completely ruining it. Turned out my youngest child had herself a grand time. I still have my Bible and if the house catches fire it is still the one material thing i will grab .. i am 71 yrs old now and will always cherish it. Last year i found a beautiful pink embossed Bible with large print i was so excited to buy. But on the first day it fell open to a certain page with a verse that i'd never seen before that literally hurt my heart so much i closed it and haven't had the inner strength to open it again. Girl there's no dust on your Bible! 😉 I like your system, and the cosmos background is just perfect. Is that a piece of cloth? You have inspired me to pick up both of my Bibles and revive my studying.

I definitely understand the little ones getting a hold of things and marking on them. Thankfully I have my own office where I can put things and close the door so they can’t get to it. And they are getting older now and know better lol. The cosmos background is a desk mat and I have the mouse pad to match. I bought it years ago just because purple is my favorite color but now you have reminded me of God’s beautiful creation and I will definitely look at it differently now. I am so glad that you are back in your Bible. That is nothing but God working through me and meeting you where you are.Thank you so much for your encouraging words.

BriannaB, do not let any of that stop you from reading and getting to know God’s Word. I’ve made a few errors using a colour too dark, trying to fix something I did and didn’t like only to make it worse. God looks at your heart, not the mistakes you’ve made while getting to know Him and His Word.

This is The Jesus Bible in English Standard Version but they also have it it NIV. There is a link to it in the description box of the video.

Where did you get the pages that explain the book you are reading.The ones that you have tipped in?

Are you referring to the graphic image ones at the beginning of the book? Those are from The Bible Project. They have a video(or two) about every book of the Bible and these graphic posters that you can download for free.

I only use yellow highlighters

Definitely do whatever works for you. Maybe you can incorporate colored pens or symbols instead of other colors of highlighter.
