Our great hope is in the Resurrection of Jesus Christ and the life of the world to come, not a rapture. We struggle and suffer for Christ daily. There’s no “escape” from it and society constantly looks for it in times like these yet the “rapture” they speak of never happens. How many times does that story have to fall apart before dispensationalism is questioned? I’ve been Orthodox since 2008 and was Protestant before that but always questioned the rapture theory. If I’m saved through the body and blood of Christ there’s no need to seek a rapture and it’s wrong to seek an escape from suffering instead of enduring it as Christ did on the cross.

Consider this ☺️ The church is not still on earth during the great tribulation, (Night is coming where no one can work, John 9:4) Do you know what an age is? Jesus said that all sins against the son of man will be forgiven, but the sin of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven in this age (The Messianic age, Present age) or in the age to come. The age ends at Jesus resurrection of the (Saints/ church) because that is when the fullness of the Gentiles has come in, that marks the end of that age. I believe this is before the great tribulation and I believe scripture supports this as I have shown. The age to come starts at the signing of the peace treaty with Israel by the antichrist and goes throughout the end of the thousand year reign. I believe this because sin is said to still be forgiven man in the age to come, the time after the fullness of the Gentiles has come in and the resurrection of the church, eg the great tribulation were people come to salvation and during the 1000 year reign also. Side note; scripture says we are not vessels of wrath, and that Christ will keep us from the trial that is to on the whole earth to test them. The test is whether people will take the Mark of the beast to fulfill their needs to live and survive I believe. If the rapture were to happen after the great tribulation that means the body of Christ would still have to watch the massacre of 2/3 of the population of the planet and be tempted to take the mark to survive. I believe that would be the most horrific thing anyone could possibly Witness or go through, and I don't think the father would put us through that. If we are not appointed as vessels of wrath and we are kept from the hour of temptation as Christ says I believe it means we are already with him in glory. I realize it takes paralleling scripture and interpretation of Scripture to come to the belief that we will be raptured before the great tribulation begins, but as I have shown there are vast differences between the second coming and the resurrection that cannot be ignored. Another thing to consider about the end of the age being the fulfillment of the fullness of the Gentiles coming in is that the Jewish nation is under a partial blindness as Paul states until the fullness of the Gentiles comes in, Romans 11:25. The Jews will start to come to faith during the great tribulation because that is the point of the great tribulation a.k.a. the time of Jacobs troubles. Before the veil can be lifted from the Jews the fullness of the Gentiles must come in. And since the Jews will start to come to faith during the great tribulation that means the fullness of the Gentiles must come in before the great tribulation begins. And after the fullness of the Gentiles has come in there is no longer a need for the church to be here on on earth scripturally. Matthew 28: 20 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. (The messianic age, dispensation of grace) Romans 11: 25 25 i do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers and sisters, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in, 26 and in this way all Israel will be saved. As it is written: Will The rapture cause Israel to see the truth of the Messiah and become envious unto salvation when the hardness is lifted after the rapture of the church.. (The fullness of the Gentiles) Romans 10: 19, “ Again I ask: Did Israel not understand? First, Moses says, 'I will make you envious by those who are not a nation; I will make you angry by a nation that has no understanding. ''When Israel sees the rapture of the church of the nation of America perhaps, when has God yet made Israel envious of a nation in a way that leads to their salvation? Ephesians 3: 2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward (dispensation of Grace) 2 Thessalonians 2: 7 For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way. (The beginning of the great tribulation where lawlessness shall abound and no one can work.) We now work by the power of the Holy Spirit unto the salvation of man, when he The Holy Spirit) is removed our work is complete and the The messianic age ends, along with the dispensation of Grace and the need for the church to be on the earth witnessing and working. Matthew 25: 23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. I believe that the rapture of the church will cause The jealousy of Romans 10: 19 in the nation of Israel. This along with the lifting of the blindness that begins with the fullness of the Gentiles having come in and having been Ruptured the Jews see the truth and become envious of the church that is now with the God they dearly love but have been blind to see but but have been blind because of their rejection of the Messiah. 1 John 2: 23 No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also. They will acknowledge the Son as the true Messiah when they see the New Testament proven true by the rapture of the church. This is proven true by, Zechariah 12:9-10 9 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. 10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn. What other eschatological event is Abel to prove to the Jews that the one they crucified was their Messiah other than the proving of the gospel of Jesus Christ by the rapture of the church who believed that Jesus was the Messiah. Romans 1: 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile Matthew 19: 30, 30 But many who are (first) will be (last), and many who are (last) will be (first). Revelation 20: 6 "Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the (first) resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years." The Gentiles received the Love of the truth and they are saved, 2 Thessalonians 2: 10. Jesus is the way the truth and the life, John 14: 6. The Gentiles herd the gospel (last), but because of their faith they will take part in the (first) resurrection, See Rev 20: 6. The Jews herd the gospel (first) but rejected it so they will take part in the second resurrection. (The resurrection of the two witnesses in between the resurrection of the gentiles and the resurrection of the Jews is a separate resurrection event.) Revelation 3: 7-9 To the Church in Philadelphia 7 "To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open. 8 I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name. 9 I will make those who are of the synagogue of Satan, who claim to be Jews though they are not, but are liars-I will make them come and fall down at your feet and acknowledge that I have loved you” What is the key and the open door? Matthew 16:18-19 18 And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19 I will give you the keys *(The gospel) of the kingdom of heaven, *(The open door) and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." * emphasis mine. The body of Christ are all members of the same true church. The promise to the church of Philadelphia is a promise to all the true churches throughout time. There was no event as spoken of in Revelation 3:10 that tested that church, their has never been any global event from God to test the faithfulness of people of earth in the context of rev 3:10. His promise to that church is a promise to his bride, all believers throughout history. The first resurrection is the promise fulfilled to his bride, and this takes place before the trial of great tribulation begins.

* The Rapture will occur when Jesus Christ returns for his church. This is when all true believers in Christ will be taken from the earth by God into heaven (1 Corinthians 15:51-52; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17). * The Second Coming will happen when Jesus Christ returns to the earth to defeat the antichrist, overthrow evil and then establish his thousand-year reign on earth (Revelation 19:11-16). Comparing the Rapture and the Second Coming of Christ In the study of Eschatology, these two events are often confused because they are similar. Both happen during end times and both describe a return of Christ. Yet there are important differences to discern. The following is a comparison of the Rapture and the Second Coming of Christ, highlighting the key distinctions noted in Scripture. 1) Meeting in the Air - Versus - Returning with Him In the Rapture, believers meet the Lord in the air: * For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 1 Thessalonians 4:16- 17 (NIV) In the Second Coming, believers return with the Lord: * The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Revelation 19:14 (NIV) 2) Before Tribulation - Versus - After Tribulation The Tribulation is a future seven-year period when God will complete his discipline of Israel and final judgment upon the unbelieving citizens of the world. The Rapture will happen before the Tribulation: * For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thessalonians 5:9 (NIV) * Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth. Revelation 3:10 (NIV) While the Second Coming will happen at the end of the Tribulation: * And I saw an angel standing in the sun, who cried in a loud voice to all the birds flying in midair, “Come, gather together for the great supper of God, so that you may eat the flesh of kings, generals, and the mighty, of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, great and small.” Revelation 17-18 (NIV) 3) Deliverance - Versus - Judgment In the Rapture believers are taken from the earth by God as an act of deliverance: * After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 1 Thessalonians 4:13- 17 * For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thessalonians 5:9 (NIV) In the Second Coming unbelievers are removed from the earth by God as an act of judgment: * Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth. Revelation 3:10 (NIV) * But the beast was captured and with it the false prophet who had performed the signs on its behalf. With these signs, he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped its image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur. The rest were killed with the sword coming out of the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh. Revelation 19:11-21 )NIV) 4) Hidden - Versus - Seen by All The Rapture, according to Scripture, will be an instantaneous, hidden event: * Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed- in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. 1 Corinthians 15:50-54 The Second Coming, according to Scripture, will be seen by everyone: * “Look, he is coming with the clouds,” and “every eye will see him, even those who pierced him”; and all peoples on earth “will mourn because of him.” So shall it be! Amen. Revelation 1:7 5) At Any Moment - Versus - Only After Certain Events The Rapture could happen at any moment: * ...While we wait for the blessed hope-the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, Titus 2:13 (NIV) * For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 1 Thessalonians 4:14-18 (NIV) The Second Coming won't happen until certain events take place: * He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called Godor is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God. 2 Thessalonians 2:4 (NIV) * Immediately after the distress of those days, "The sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken." Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. Matthew 24:15-30 (NIV) * Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and everyone else, both slave and free, hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains. They called to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of their wrath has come, and who can withstand it?” Revelation 6-18 (NIV) As is common in Christian theology, there are conflicting views regarding the Rapture and the Second Coming. One source of confusion over these two end times events stems from verses found in Matthew chapter 24. While speaking broadly about the end of the age, it's likely this chapter references both the Rapture and the Second Coming. It's important to note, the purpose of Christ's teaching here was to prepare believers for the end. He wanted his followers to be watchful, living each day as though his return was imminent.

One of the bits of "sleight of-hand" going on in Hank's reply to the concerned caller is his automatic pairing of the Rapture with Dispensational Premillennialism (as found in Darby, Scofield, Newton, etc.). One can still defend the rapture of I Thessalonians 4:17 ("then we who are ALIVE, who are left, shall be caught up [harpazo] together with them [the resurrected Christians] in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air...") (RSV), but in doing so, one does not have to insist on all the details of 19th century Darbyism. For example, see George Eldon Ladd's book The Blessed Hope for ONE defense of a premillennial rapture without dispensational details. The rapture is clearly in the Bible and not a 19th century fabrication. Preterism is NOT the believer's only option.

There is a clear misunderstanding of Hank’s understanding of the great tribulation as taught by Jesus. To get a better idea where Hank is coming from see this article… www.equip.org/articles/apocalypse-when/ As for preparedness, Hank understands that every family needs to take precautions for emergency situations, as they are part and parcel of this sinful and fallen world, and while we never know when they will happen, it is wise to prepare. Of course, there are lots of doomsday predictions made by so-called “prophecy experts” but they have a 100% failure rate. Despite the false prognostications, natural disasters and the like occasionally happen, and preparedness is wise. @@Kman.We are already going through tribulation. People are being killed and tortured all over the world for believing in Jesus. We will not be present for his wrath poured out, we will ne meeting him in the air, the people left will be crying for the rocks to fall on them. One thing I realized, there is not a "the" in front of "great tribulation" ANYWHERE as if its a certain length of time. I realized that after a long time. People always say "the great tribulation" and that expression is nowhere in the bible. The Bible says there will be great tribulation and just tribulation period. 2 Thessalonians 2:3 Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction,… Matthew 13:20-21 As for what was sown on rocky ground, this is the one who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy, yet he has no root in himself, but endures for a while, and when tribulation or persecution arises on account of the word, immediately he falls away. Ephesians 6:13-14 “Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness…” It is interesting that truth is worn like a belt. Belts were used to gird one’s loins to prepare oneself for work or battle. You can only stand on or for something if you know the truth about it. If you don’t know or believe that you must withstand in the evil day, you are less likely to take a stand. Hebrews 10:35-39 Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised. For, “Yet a little while, and the coming one will come and will not delay; but my righteous one shall live by faith, and if he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.” But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls. At the end of Luke 17, Jesus answered the Pharisees about the coming of the kingdom and immediately spoke the parable of the persistent widow to teach the disciples to always pray and not lose heart concluding with “when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?” Luke 18:8. The servants in the Master’s house need meat in due season. Matthew 24:45-46 “Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his master has set over his household, to give them their food at the proper time? Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes…”

consider this, in a Jewish wedding Ceremony when the son finished preparing a place in the fathers house for the bride, the father sent the son to return to gather the bride. The son did not know when the father would say his work of preparing the place for the bride was complete, and this corresponds with Jesus saying that he didn’t know the Day of his return nor the angels in heaven but the father alone, this is how we know that this applies to John 14:3. The bride than returns with the son to the fathers house for seven days, john 14:3 pictured. after this they return to the brides house, (earth). If you apply this to us as the bride of Christ and the fact that 7 days in the Old Jewish wedding ceremony correspond with the seven years of the great tribulation that we are in the fathers house with the son celebrating our union you can see where a pre-tribulation rapture is taught in scripture by using the pictures given.

A person can’t read Matthew 24 and ever come up with a pre tribulation rapture. Jesus himself tells us when it would be in verse 29. “Immediately after the tribulation” What is it about “after” that so many Christians just don’t understand. It doesn’t mean before and it doesn’t mean in the middle it simply means after. Jesus was talking to four of his disciples and was answering their question of what will be the sign and when will it happen. Did they understand what Jesus was saying, go and check with marks account and lukes account and read what they said. They have no doubt as to what Jesus had said so here we have two witnesses testifying of what was said. I believed in a pre trib rapture for over 70 years until I thought I would do my own research as to whether it was pre trib or post trib. It finally hit me as though it was hidden there all the time in plain sight. I still wonder to this day how on earth did I not see this earlier on.

Those who hold to a midtribulation rapture teach that the seventh trumpet of Revelation 11:15 and the last trumpet of 1 Corinthians 15:52 and 1 Thessalonians 4:16 are identical. Those who teach a pretribulation rapture identify them as separate events. What difference does it make, and how can we know the truth? Why does it matter whether or not the trumpets are the same? God has given us His Word as the revelation of His plan of redemption, and that plan covers everything from creation to the new creation. Deuteronomy 29:29 says, “The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.” There are many things that God has chosen to reveal to us, and it is important for us to understand them so that we can obey Him. We don’t always understand why He does things, but we are called to trust Him for the parts we don’t understand and to study to understand the rest. As we look at the texts about these trumpets, it becomes clear that they are part of a chronology that God has given us of events in the last days. Whether or not we are still living when those events come to pass, they involve us, so we ought to know what God has revealed to us. The book of Revelation has sometimes been viewed as a book of mystery, yet the title itself implies something brought out of hiding. More specifically, it is “the revelation of Jesus Christ . . . to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass” (Revelation 1:1). God wants us to know what is going to happen, so we can be prepared, and to help us in calling others to repentance. Beginning in chapter 6, we are given a chronological record of things that will happen in the last days. There is a series of seven seals, then a series of seven trumpets, then a series of seven bowls of wrath. We read in Revelation 11:15, “And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, ‘The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.’” In the context, this seems to come around the middle of the tribulation period. In 1 Corinthians 15, Paul is writing to believers concerning the transition from this life to eternal life. Our mortal bodies will be transformed into immortal, incorruptible bodies, prepared for the eternal kingdom of God. Verse 52 says, “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” Paul addresses the same subject to the Thessalonians, and specifically connects it with the Second Coming of Christ. “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord” (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17). There is no question that God has revealed these things to us and that He intends for us to be encouraged and instructed by them. The question is whether these trumpets are the same. If they are the same, then the rapture of the church happens in the middle of the tribulation period, and saints need to be prepared to endure those trials. If they are not the same, then we need to know when the last trump will sound, so that we can be prepared for it. In order to find out whether they are the same, we can compare the events they are associated with. Events 1 Corinthians 15 1 Thessalonians 4 Revelation 11 Trumpet sound v. 52 v. 16 v. 15 Dead saints raised v. 52 v. 16 Living saints changed v. 52 v. 17 Death overcome by victory v. 54 v. 14 Jesus descends from Heaven v. 16 Not until Rev 19:11 Kingdoms of the world taken over by Christ v. 15 Wrath of God on dead v. 18 Rewards given to saints v. 18 Intended result v. 57-58 - thanks, victory, faithfulness until then v. 18 - comfort now, presence with Christ then v. 14,17 - woe on earth, thanks in Heaven It is clear that the first two passages (Corinthians and Thessalonians) fit together, but the third doesn’t appear to have any correlation in either the events described or the intended results. The argument connecting them has to depend on the meaning of the word last in 1 Corinthians 15:52. The Greek word eschatos can mean either “last in point of time” or “last in point of sequence.” This trumpet sounds before the wrath of God descends, yet Revelation 6:17 speaks of the wrath of the Lamb as having come, and the seventh trumpet doesn’t sound until Revelation 11:15. The trumpet of 1 Thessalonians is given in a moment, whereas Revelation 10:7 indicates that the seventh trumpet will be sounded for a number of days. Even though the seventh trumpet is the last one described in Revelation, Matthew 24:31 indicates there is yet another trumpet which will sound “after the tribulation of those days,” when Christ returns to the earth, which parallels with Revelation 19. If the “last trumpet” of 1 Corinthians 15 is not the same as the seventh trumpet, then what was Paul referring to? Both 1 Thessalonians and 1 Corinthians were written long before John wrote Revelation, so Paul’s readers would have no knowledge of the seven trumpets of Revelation. Paul intended for them to understand what he was writing about, so we need to look elsewhere for clarification. Paul’s writing was distinctly in reference to the church and the closing of the church age at the rapture. Throughout Scripture, trumpets were used as signals to gather people, to set armies on the move, and as part of the worship of God. The trumpet that summons the church is called “the trump of God,” while those in Revelation are angelic trumpets. Since it is a summoning trumpet, we can look to the Old Testament for further understanding. Numbers 10 gives instruction to Israel about the use of trumpets to call an assembly of the people and to set them in motion. The first trumpet blast (v. 4) called the leaders together, while a continual blowing was an alarm for the people. A series of trumpet blasts was the signal for each group of tribes to begin their journey, and the last blast indicated the movement of the last group in the camp. Similarly, 1 Corinthians 15:23 speaks of different orders, or ranks, in the resurrection: “Every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at His coming.” Further, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 divides Christ’s own into two groups-the dead in Christ and those who are alive and remain. So, if the trumpet is the call for saints to assemble and journey to heaven, what does that mean for us? Jesus said that no one knows when the Day of the Lord will begin (Matthew 24:36), and 1 Thessalonians 5:2 describes it as coming as a thief in the night, without warning. In 1 Corinthians 15:58, we are told to be “steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord.” Just like the Israelites in the wilderness, we do not know when the trumpet will sound, so we are to be always ready. While we may not know the day or hour, we have been given enough information to know it can happen at any moment. We are to be ready, putting on the armor of God, because we have been appointed to receive salvation through Jesus Christ (1 Thessalonians 5:8-9).

Some people think that God's wrath begins when the 6th seal is opened. They base this on the following two verses: "They called to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of their wrath has come, and who can withstand it?” But the reason they understand that God's wrath has come is because of what is taking place in the previous seals. Notice what we see the fourth seal ... "When the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth." (Revelation 6:8) ... and compare this with what Ezekiel writes here: "For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: How much worse will it be when I send against Jerusalem MY four dreadful judgments - sword and famine and wild beasts and plague - to kill its men and their animals!" (Ezekiel 14:21) and here ... "One who is far away will die of the plague, and one who is near will fall by the sword, and anyone who survives and is spared will die of famine. So will I pour out MY WRATH on them." (Ezekiel 6:12) HORSEMEN ARE ALWAYS ASSOCIATED WITH GODS WRATH . revelation. We are not appointed to wrath

@@BibleAnswerMan Verse 14 “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.” The destruction of Jerusalem is something that was about to happen, which Jesus was explaining, but this would only be a foretaste of even greater global events that will take place at the end of the age. Christ was explaining both. One of the reasons Matthew 24 could not have been fulfilled in 70 AD is because the Gospel had not yet been preached to all nations and more obviously the end did not come. The end that Jesus was talking about is the end of the age. It doesn’t make sense for Jesus to say that the gospel will be preached in all nations and then the end of Jerusalem would come. No, He was saying that the end of the world wouldn’t happen until the gospel of the kingdom had first been preached to all the nations of the world. Revelation 14:6-7 shows us how the gospel will be preached to all nations just before the Second Coming of Christ:

“And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.” (Matt. 8:26) O ye of little faith, why would anyone who truly believes in Christ fear the tribulation or even death for that matter? To live is Christ to die is gain (Philip. 1:21). Don’t you have the Holy Spirit, the seal of God (Eph. 1:13) in you? O ye of little faith! Let’s keep the teaching simple: Where does rapture theory come from? The misinterpretation of Matthew 24:36-41. Take a closer look. Matthew 24:36-41 parallels Luke 17:26-37 (one taken, one left behind), however, in Luke verse 17:37, the apostles specifically ask Christ where the ones being taken are going as it is written: “And they answered and said to Him, “Where, Lord?” So He said to them, “Wherever the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together.” (Luke 17:37) Now, based on Christ's answer, does this sound like anyone is being taken up into heaven? Nope! It sounds more like Jeremiah 7:33 where it is written: "And the dead bodies of this people WILL BE FOOD FOR THE BIRDS of the air, and for the beasts of the earth, and none will frighten them away." (Jer. 7:33). Christ’s answer also sounds like a verse in the Book of Revelation where it is written: "Then I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to ALL THE BIRDS that fly in the midst of heaven, “Come and gather together for the supper of the great God, that YOU MAY EAT THE FLESH of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and THE FLESH OF ALLL PEOPLE, FREE AND SLAVE, BOTH SMALL AND GREAT” (Rev. 19:17-18) To simplify the teaching further if you still don’t get it, just read Matthew 13 explains it best (it’s the same story; the parable of the wheat and the tares). Who is taken first? Or read Psalm 37, and the parable of the net it is so self-explanatory. Christ said upon his return it would be like the days of Noah for a reason. Who was taken and who was left behind? The evil ones were taken away in the flood and Noah with his family (God’s chosen) were kept safely in the ark on earth. We see the same scenario manifest with the plagues of Egypt in Exodus. The Egyptians were affected, the Israelites (God’s chosen) were protected by God and were not afflicted. Again, in the fall of Jericho: Rehab and her family (those who helped God secure the victory) were kept in safety while the rest of the city was destroyed. Again, in Sodom and Gomorrah: Lot and his family (chosen) were taken to a place of safety while the wicked ones in the cities were destroyed. How many times does the Lord have to repeat himself? The world continues to look and look, but still can't see. "The meek will inherit the earth" (Matt. 5:5). One of the greatest problems with the rapture up to heaven theory is that heaven is not, and has never been, the reward of the saved. Christ said, “The meek shall inherit the earth” (Matt. 5:5). The promise of the saved is eternal life (John 3:16). If you read the Bible for yourself like I did, you will find there isn’t one single Bible verse that says we “go up into heaven” (the throne of God). Not a single one! “THEN the Son of Man WILL APPEAR, COMING in a cloud with great power and glory. WHEN these things BEGIN to happen, STAND UP AND RAISE YOUR HEADS, BECAUSE YOUR SALVATION IS NEAR.” (Luke 21:27-28) Christ said clearly, “raise your heads because your salvation is near”. Everyone will still be on the earth! This is the 7th / last trumpet (1 Cor. 15:51-52). Christ tells us himself we will be on the earth at his return and the pre-trib rapture (or any rapture up into heaven) is a lie! Scripture can’t be broken (John 10:35). Christ said it and any true Christian should believe what Christ said, not the fabrications and inventions of men or their “eisegesis”. There is no room for debate with the word of God as that would be complete and utter foolishness. Christ already predicted the world would come up with the foolishness of the rapture up into heaven. In his own statement of fact, Christ NEVER advocated the rapturing of His followers out of the world to be taken up to heaven for it is written: “I DO NOT ASK YOU TO TAKE THEM OUT OF THE WORLD, but I do ask you to KEEP THEM SAFE from the Evil One.” (John 17:15) How clear! Doctrine must come from the Word of God, NOT the teachings of men! Are you going to continue to believe in false teachings or the word of God? Repent for the kingdom of God is near!

Matthew 24:1-3 (NKJV) “Then Jesus went out and departed from the temple, and His disciples came up to show Him the buildings of the temple. 2 And Jesus said to them, “Do you not see all these things? Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down.” 3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” 1) The chapter starts out with Jesus’ disciples asking him three questions that Jesus then proceeds to answer. “When will these things happen?” (The destruction of the temple.) “What will be the sign of Your coming?” (The Second Coming.) “What will be the sign of the end of the age?” (The end of the world.) These are the questions that were put to Jesus so it would be strange to think that he was only answering the first one and ignoring the last two. Some say that all three have their fulfilment in the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD. But this cannot be since in Matthew 24 Christ also describes His Second Coming and the end of the age. To say this has already happened hardly complies with reality let alone the way Scripture describes the Second Coming of Christ at the end of the age. I believe that what Jesus was explaining was the imminent destruction of Jerusalem as well as what the end of the age will be like. The language Jesus uses in Matthew 24 is interwoven to describe not only local events but global events that will affect all of mankind. Yes Israel was about to face a horrific tribulation like it had never faced before, but globally the world would face even greater tribulations in the future and especially the final Great Tribulation at the end of the age. 2) Matthew 24:9 (NKJV) “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake.” Certainly Jesus wasn’t limiting this only to His disciples here but to believers everywhere being hated by all nations. Jesus’ twelve disciples were not hated by all nations. They were only hated by a few. The destruction of Jerusalem wasn’t perpetrated by all nations but only one nation, Rome. So why would Jesus even be talking about all nations here as a sign that Jerusalem was about to be destroyed by Rome? It doesn’t make sense if the context is only limited to the destruction of Jerusalem. By the time of 70 AD not all the nations of the world had even heard of Jesus, let alone hated His disciples because of Him. This is something that will become increasingly more real as we approach the end of the age. The world’s hatred for Christians is growing and only going to get worse. So “all nations hating Christ’s followers” is not a sign of Jerusalem’s imminent destruction but a sign of the end of the age which Jesus was also explaining here. This shows that the destruction of Jerusalem is not the entire fulfilment of Matthew 24. 3) Verse 14 “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.” The destruction of Jerusalem is something that was about to happen, which Jesus was explaining, but this would only be a foretaste of even greater global events that will take place at the end of the age. Revelation 14:6-7 shows us how the gospel will be preached to all nations just before the Second Coming of Christ: “Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth-to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people-7 saying with a loud voice, “Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.”
@Neil-no5hv3 ай бұрын
Then from verse 14 it starts to explain the Second Coming of Christ and the harvest of the world: “Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and on the cloud sat One like the Son of Man…” All this shows that Jesus wasn’t just talking about the destruction of Jerusalem but literally the events taking place just before the end of the world. 4) Verse 21 “For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.” Now it’s true that there was great tribulation during the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70, and Jesus was describing imminent destruction. But this is not the same tribulation spoken of later in verse 29 which is the great tribulation of Revelation 7:9-17 which takes place at the end of the age just before Christ returns. This tribulation doesn’t just affect Jews and Israel, but the entire planet. It involves Christ returning in the clouds, an angel blowing a loud trumpet (the 7th and final trumpet of Revelation 11:15 & Revelation 14), great signs and wonders in the heavens and earth and the gathering of His elect. (Matt 24:27-34, 1 Thess 4:13-17, 1 Thess 5:1-11, 2 Thess 2:1-12, 1 Cor 15:51-52, Rev 1:7, Rev 6:12-17, Rev 11:15-19, Rev 14, Rev 15 & 16, Rev 19, Rev 20). This great tribulation that will happen at the end of the age is even greater than the destruction of Jerusalem, and anything else in history combined. It’s a tribulation that will only be brought to an end at the Second Coming of Christ with the ending of the age (see verse 29-31). Revelation 7 clearly shows that the Great Tribulation is not limited to Israel but to the whole world on a global scale. Revelation 7:9 and 13,14 (ESV) “After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands… 13 Then one of the elders addressed me, saying, “Who are these, clothed in white robes, and from where have they come?” 14 I said to him, “Sir, you know.” And he said to me, “These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation. They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.” 5) Verse 27 “For as lighting comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.” The destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD along with the slaughter of 1.1million Jews was not “the coming of the Son of Man”. The coming of the Son of Man is the Second Coming of Christ. This is a global event that will affect all mankind, not just Jerusalem and will usher in the end of the world not the end of Jerusalem. Therefore Jesus was referring to something even more global and to do with end times and not only the imminent destruction of Jerusalem. He’s not just saying to Israel to be ready and watchful, He was speaking to all mankind to be ready for the return of Christ. 6) Verse 29 - 30 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” This is clearly referring to Christ’s Second Coming. There’s no third or forth coming of Christ. Only one more, His Second Coming. He didn’t come in AD70 to destroy Jerusalem and then plans to come again at the end of the age. No, Rome destroyed and persecuted Jerusalem not Jesus. Christ has yet to return and when He does it will be a global event that will affect all the tribes of the world, not just Israel. If Matthew 24 was all fulfilled at in 70 AD then it means that Christ has returned. This clearly did not happen. Christ’s Second Coming will affect the whole world and not just Jerusalem. Verse 30 says, “Then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds…” Certainly this has not happened yet. When have all the tribes of earth mourned because they all saw Jesus returning in the clouds? This has not yet been fulfilled so that makes it impossible to say that all of Matthew 24 has been fulfilled with the destruction of Jerusalem.Notice in verse 29 it says that there will be great signs in the heavens and Christ will return Immediately after the tribulation of those days. Well firstly these great heavenly signs have not happened yet (these are clearly the trumpet and bowl judgments of Revelation 8, 9, 11 & 16 which will happen on a global scale and are yet to be). Secondly Christ did not return immediately after the tribulation of Jerusalem in 70 AD. A reasonable person can only assume that Christ was not speaking only of the tribulation of 70 AD but also of an even greater tribulation that is worldwide and at the end of the age just before He returns. Some try to say that Christ did come in 70 AD and is now reigning but that’s a distortion of the Second Coming. After Christ’s resurrection He ascended into Heaven. The only other time the Bible says that He will return is at His Second Coming. This Second Coming will see the end of the age and the Day of Judgement. Jesus speaks about His Coming a few verses later in Matthew 25. And note that He is not speaking about some temporary visitation of wrath on Jerusalem, He is speaking about His full return and the end of the world. Note that this return is the same return he is speaking about throughout Matthew 24. Matthew 25:31-34 “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.” (See the rest of the chapter for the full description. Also see 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17, 1 Corinthians 15: 50-55, Revelation 20 & 21 on the Second Coming.) 7) Verse 31 “And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.” This hasn’t happened yet so how can Matthew 24 already be fulfilled? This isn’t some local event in Jerusalem this is global and it’s end of the age stuff. This is the great harvest of believers (the elect) from all over the world at Christ’s return. (See end brackets on previous point.) How can Matthew 24 have all been fulfilled in 70 AD when this hasn’t happened yet? 8) Verse 34 “Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place.” Some people try to use verse 34 to say that Jesus was only speaking to that particular generation of Jews living at the time. They say Jesus said this around 30 AD and a generation is 40 years and so many from that generation would have been around during the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD. The problem though is that that generation has long passed away and not all of the things that Jesus said have happened. Certainly not the great heavenly signs and the Second Coming or the end of the age or the gathering of His elect which was all supposed to happen “immediately after the destruction of Jerusalem”. The only deduction is that Jesus wasn’t only referring to that immediate generation of Jews but also the Jewish people as a race and that they would not pass away before His Second Coming and the end of the age. That current generation will witness the destruction of Jerusalem but the race of Jewish people will not be destroyed before the end of the world. Therefore what Jesus was saying was not just a prediction it was also a promise and a guarantee that Jewish people will not be wiped out. (The word generation in the Greek is genea and can mean race, family, generation.) Verse 34 is a covenant promise to the seed of Abraham that Israel would not cease as a people before Christ returns. (Compare Matt 24:34 with Jeremiah 31:35-37. God promises that if the stars and the sun and moon passed away then Israel could pass away too.)

The clear teachings about the Rapture rescue doctrine are only in the Bible because Paul wrote letters to correct false teachers who said it wouldn't happen, and that struggle against anti-Rapture teachings only intensified after the apostle’s deaths. The Catholic church violently suppressed many biblical doctrines, including the Rapture, for the vast majority of church history, which explains why there is little evidence of it in the early church and no evidence from Augustine until religious liberty flourished again during the Protestant Reformation, which happened to be in 1600s England. “Dispensationalism Before Darby” by William C Watson uses 350+ sources before Darby to prove that he did not come up with anything new but popularized what free Englishmen had been conversing about since the 1600s. And claims that Darby invented the Rapture were made up by Robert Norton in 1861 and embellished and marketed by Dave MacPherson, starting in the 1970s. The truth is that God does have a unique plan for the nation of Israel because he made specific promises to the Patriarchs that he must keep. Rom 11:25-26 says that Israel is hardened until the fullness of the Gentiles comes in, and in this way _all Israel_ shall be saved. That prophesy is fulfilled in Rev 7 where angels continue restraining the great tribulation a little longer during a revival among _all 12 tribes of Israel_ while church saints celebrate their entry into heaven. It really seems that scripture is pointing to a post-tribulation rapture. And I would agree that those who believe in pre-trib rapture likely will take the mark because they don't believe they will have an opportunity. I completely agree that the mark of the beast is connected to what we do, or our obedience. Believers can't & won't take the mark...we're already sealed by way of the Holy Spirit. To you bringing up *Matt 24* I would say that that is the weakest argument to bring up, for the passage is not about the church. Don't dig deep into a passage to extract a few words when you've skated over the *CONTEXT* of the discourse.

The Olivet discourse really begins in the preceding chapter where Christ says in *Matt **23:37**,* "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem...". Notice He doesn't say, "O church, church", for the church was not even established. The *CONTEXT* is where Christ is addressing the Jewish leadership/nation. He is about to detail the events leading up to the coming KINGDOM, not the coming CHURCH. The verse goes on to say this... "...thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!" We'll see a "GATHERING" later in *Matt 24* (like you'll want to _RUSH_ to), but we can see that "GATHERING" found in verse 31 is just what Christ has L O N G E D to do with the Jews, but as *Matt **23:37* states, they've refused Him over & over again. The "GATHERING" will be prophesy getting fulfilled as we read of here: *Isaiah 11:11,12* “And it shall come to pass *IN THAT DAY,* that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to *RECOVER* the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.” *Vs 12* “And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and *GATHER TOGETHER* the dispersed of Judah from the *FOUR CORNERS OF THE EARTH.”* Notice where they'll be "GATHERED" from & _THEN_ let's look at what we read here in *Matt **24:31* =====> "And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the *FOUR WINDS,* from one end of heaven to the other." Again, the entire dialogue centers around the JEWS. & His coming KINGDOM here on earth. We don't just cram the church into the passage in order to find support for a narrative. As Christ returns @ the end of the tribulation for the millennial reign, it is THEN that the Jews will finally cry out as a people as *Matt **23:39* prophesies they will; *=====>* "For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord." Some would argue, "But Christ spoke privately to the disciples in *Matt 24:1* and they were the pillars of the church, so it's about the CHURCH". That's nothing more than injecting the church into the dialogue that simply is not there. It's akin to trying to cram the square peg into the round hole. To further validate just how Christ viewed the disciples we can look at *Matt **19:28* and find this... "And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel." Again, the _MESSAGING_ in *Matt 24* is about what will come leading up to the coming KINGDOM. Hey...I don't want to get TOO long with my reply so I'll cut if off here. Much more can be brought out & unpacked from the chapter(s), but nearly every verse throughout *Matt 24* _S C R E A M S_ Jews, not church. All the best to you in your search for truth, *MARANATHA!*

Ehhh, lost me at the mark not being an actual mark. It says you have to have it to buy or sell. That doesn't make sense with this only being a vague intuition of someone just being a Christian or not. Like if that was the case, the "mark" would have been a thing since the beginning of time. It would have been a thing in Jesus time as well. Its clear that the mark is specific to the beast, and the end times. Its a clear demarcation of some kind. If it was only salvation it wouldn't have required any additional warning seeing as salvation is already a requirement. The math doesn't work here.

The book of the Revelation states that the church will be kept from the trials, that will be coming upon the whole world. I too have great respect for you, but I do not agree here. The Antichrist cannot be revealed until the church is taken out of the way. Also...the restraining power of the Holy Spirit, to hold back much of the evil on this earth will be taken up with the church. He himself will stay on the earth, to protect those who come to Christ, during the Tribulation period. I don't see how anything but a pre-trib rapture would fit in this end time scenario. Darby didn't invent the pretrib rapture, but Darby DID invent the idea of Daniel's 70th week being yet future, and a large "gap" of 2000 years between the 69th and 70th week of Daniel. This is not in the Bible anywhere, in fact, Daniel 9 clearly states that Messiah would be cut off AFTER the 69th week....which places it in the 70th week, which means the 70th week has at least started. And, if the 70th week has not been completed, then the 70 weeks are not fulfilled by Jesus yet. Which means He has not completed the plan of salvation for Israel. Which means He is not Messiah. Blind to the truth. Paul said very clearly, in 1 Thessalonians 4: 15-17 the dead shall rise first, then we which are alive and REMAIN unto the coming of the LORD shall be caught up together with them in the clouds THE DEAD SHALL RISE FIRST. this is a huge clue and everyone reads over it and never gives it a thought. if the dead are raised first then the rapture. it is easy to know when the rapture is. all you need to know is WHEN DO THE DEAD GET RAISED? If you know when the dead get raised, you know your rapture is soon to follow. WHEN DO THE DEAD GET RAISED? John 6: 44 44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up {{{at the last day}}}. JOHN 11: 24 24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection {{{at the last day}}}. Now you know when your rapture will be. AFTER the dead are raised {{{at the last day}}} Endure to the end. The same shall be saved.

We are no longer willing to fight and die for our faith as did our biblical forebears and our Roman Byzantine Christian forebears and the knights and armies of Charles the Great. Now we are on the verge of losing our nation as many in the west are losing their’s. Evil has now overtly marked all of us for overt attack. The scripture now points out that Jesus, the Prince of Peace, bears in his hand the sword! We Christians must organize and wield our sword. The time has come!

The Book of Hebrews is written to Christians talks about the person and work of Christ. Christians are now and always have been one people--the church--that is those who have faith in Christ either looking forward in the OT or faith in Christ in the New Testament until now. The church does include people as Rev. says from every tribe, tongue, and nation and of course that includes believers who are Jewish as well.

The letters are to the 7 churches about what must SOON take place. Revelation can be seen as an expansion of Messiah Jesus Olivet Discourse, to a 1st century church, not to a 21st century church, although for us to apply to our lives as believers. They were about to ( the time is near, at hand) go thru great tribulation during a Caesar cult w/ horrible persecution on the early christian church. Its written using Old Testament symbolism & Apocalyptic language/ Imagery. Ezekiel, Daniel & other OT books use this language & you can absolutely see the parallel between Ezk & Rev which you will clearly see when read. Thess. letter from Paul speaks of loved ones dying & if they will be raised up & w/ the Lord & precede them & on the last day on His return those still alive will go out to meet Him as they did when the King returned home. Cor. we will be changed in the twinkling of an eye at the last trump. In the days of Noah they were taken in judgement & not raptured. Im sure you heard how recent the pretrib rapture is, invented in 1830s. I think it fine to disagree w/ non essentials, I even attend a church that teaches a pretrib rapture, but the fellowship & the gospel of Jesus Christ is what matters. According to your theology Jesus would have to gather us to himself in the clouds at his second coming(your rapture) and then go back with us to heaven to the place where he has prepared for us (and if he took the time to prepare a place for us It would seem that the intent was for us to spend a significant amount of time there with him) and then come back to Earth for him to touchdown where he then begins the millennial reign. but in this there is error because Scripture says that he will “return in fiery judgment”, (not mentioned in the gathering us to himself in the clouds) that he will set up his millennial kingdom here on this earth. it never says anywhere that he returns to heaven with us after his second coming, so where is John 14:3 in your theology ever fulfilled?

@@nathandoiron1119 Did the Early Church Teach Transubstantiation? Estimated Reading Time: 10 min Nathan Busenitz | April 21, 2016 Today's post is intended to answer an important question from a historical standpoint. However, it ought to be stated at the outset that Scripture must be our final authority in the determination of sound doctrine and right practice. The word “eucharist” means “thanksgiving” and was an early Christian way of referring to the celebration of the Lord’s Table. Believers in the early centuries of church history regularly celebrated the Lord’s Table as a way to commemorate the death of Christ. The Lord Himself commanded this observance on the night before His death. As the apostle Paul recorded in 1 Corinthians 11:23-26: For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” In the same way He took the cup also after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes. In discussing the Lord’s Table from the perspective of church history, at least two important questions arise. First, did the early church believe that the elements (the bread and the cup) were actually and literally transformed into the physical body and blood of Christ? In other words, did they articulate the doctrine of transubstantiation as modern Roman Catholics do? Second, did early Christians view the eucharist as a propitiatory sacrifice? Or put another way, did they view it in the terms articulated by the sixteenth-century Council of Trent? In today’s post, we will address the first of those two questions. Did the Early Church Fathers Hold to Transubstantiation? Transubstantiation is the Roman Catholic teaching that in the eucharist, the bread and the cup are transformed into the literal body and blood of Christ. Here are several quotes from the church fathers, often cited by Roman Catholics, in defense of their claim that the early church embraced transubstantiation. Ignatius of Antioch (d. c. 110): “Take note of those who hold heterodox opinions on the grace of Jesus Christ which has come to us, and see how contrary their opinions are to the mind of God. . . . They abstain from the Eucharist and from prayer because they do not confess that the Eucharist is the flesh of our Savior Jesus Christ, flesh which suffered for our sins and which that Father, in his goodness, raised up again. They who deny the gift of God are perishing in their disputes” (Letter to the Smyrnaeans 6:2-7:1). Irenaeus (d. 202): "He took from among creation that which is bread, and gave thanks, saying, ‘This is my body.’ The cup likewise, which is from among the creation to which we belong, he confessed to be his blood” (Against Heresies, 4:17:5). Irenaeus again: “He has declared the cup, a part of creation, to be his own blood, from which he causes our blood to flow; and the bread, a part of creation, he has established as his own body, from which he gives increase unto our bodies. When, therefore, the mixed cup [wine and water] and the baked bread receives the Word of God and becomes the Eucharist, the body of Christ, and from these the substance of our flesh is increased and supported, how can they say that the flesh is not capable of receiving the gift of God, which is eternal life-flesh which is nourished by the body and blood of the Lord, and is in fact a member of him?” (Against Heresies, 5:2).

Does the “Last Trumpet” in 1 Corinthians 15:52 correspond to 7th Trumpet in Revelation 11:15-19? 1 Corinthians 15:50-52 50 I tell you this, brothers: flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. 51 Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound [emphasis added], and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. ENGLISH STANDARD VERSION First, the sequence Paul taught in 1 Corinthians 15:50-52 is summarized as: 1. The final trumpet is blown 2. The dead in Christ will rise to immortality 3. Those who remain will also be translated into immortality to join those who had previously died in Christ The following are three reasons the trumpet referenced in 1 Corinthians 15:52 is not referring to the 7th Trumpet in Revelation 11:15-19. Before jumping in let us agree however that 1 Corinthians 15:50-52 is referring to the Resurrection when God’s people are converted from being mortal to immortal. Therefore, whenever the Resurrection of God’s people are used in Scripture, it corresponds with the same event described in 1 Corinthians 15:50-52. 1. It would be incoherent for Paul to reference the 7th Revelation Trumpet instruction in his first letter to the Corinthians. Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians was written about 53-55 AD - no less than several decades before John recorded Revelation. It would have been incoherent to the Corinthians for Paul to reference a teaching that had not yet been given decades into the future. This notion of a Trumpet blast right before God’s people are translated is consistent with other Rapture references (see 1 Thessalonians 4:16). This practice of taking a word reference and applying everywhere that word shows up is called the Word-Concept Fallacy. Use caution when a bible teacher takes a word from a passage and points to its use elsewhere in Scripture… especially when an entire interpretive framework (Post-tribulation Rapture) is built around that word usage. 2. The Revelation narrative presents the Resurrection occurring between the 6th (Revelation 6:12-17) and 7th Seals (Revelation 8:1-5). While Revelation is not always presented in complete sequence (e.g. Revelation 12-14 is a parenthetical occurring before Revelation 11), the sequence in Revelation 6-9 will take place in the order it is written. Revelation 7:1 and Revelation 7:9 even state “After this I saw” and “After this I looked” indicating Revelation 7 passage occurs right between Revelation 6:17 and before Revelation 8 when the 7th Seal is opened. The reason this is important is because the 7 Trumpet events do not begin until after the 7th Seal is broken. In summary, here are the order of events: 3. 4. a. 6th Seal : Celestial disturbances - indicating the end of the age is at hand (Revelation 6:12-14) 5. b. Son of Man and the Ancient of Days are revealed to the whole world (Revelation 6:15-17) 6. c. 144,000 Jews receive markings on their forehead to protect them during the Day of the Lord (Revelation 7:1-8) 7. d. A great multitude appear in Heaven that were raptured out of the Great Tribulation (Revelation 7:9-17) 8. e. Seventh Seal is opened (Revelation 8:1-5) 9. f. Seven Trumpets are blown in order (Revelation 8:6-9; 11:15-19) 10. 11. Given that sequence, it would be impossible to have the Revelation 7th Trumpet indicate the Resurrection/Rapture was about to occur as taught in 1 Corinthians 15:50-52. The event that kicks everything off in 1 Corinthians 15:52 is the the trumpet sound and is part of a different trumpet sequence from the 7 Trumpets in Revelation. The sounding of trumpets in Jewish custom was quite common, especially to call an assembly gather (Numbers 10:1-10) and during Rosh Hashanah. 12. The 7th Trumpet is blown after the Two Witnesses are caught up. People that argue the trumpet blast in 13. 1 Corinthians 15:52 corresponds to the 7th Trumpet will also probably teach the Two Witnesses symbolize God’s people who are “caught up” in Revelation 11:15. The issue here is with the sequence of events, similar to #2, is to say these Two Witnesses symbolize God’s people who will be raptured. In Revelation 11, the Two Witnesses are “caught up” to Heaven in v12, which Scripture calls the 2nd woe. After that is the third woe, which is the 7th Trumpet. There seems to be a passing of time between the 2nd and 3rd woes, even if it is a short period. However, the instruction in 1 Corinthians 15:50-52 is nearly instantaneous… the trumpet is blown and then immediately after in the twinkling of an eye, we are are translated into immortality.

Pretribulation rapture is an oxymoron. A tribulation is something believers endure. If there are no believers it would be called God's wrath. IMHO

The problem is that this Pre-tribulation rapture is NOT new. Paul was clear about this in 1 Thessalonians 4, John was clear in John 14, and Paul again was clear in 1 Corinthians 15, and these are NOT the only references to, as Paul told us " I tell you a "mystery" which no one knows. Therefore, I believe scripture over anyone's interpretation of it. I'm not interested if anyone came up with the pre-tribulation rapture over Paul's inspiration given by God Himself. I am going with scripture alone. I like Hank a lot, but he should consult his former colleague Ron Rhodes on this matter if he's willing to be schooled. This subject is VERY important to the church because it separates the hellish teaching of Replacement Theology with the truth regarding the difference between the Physical descendants of Abraham, and the Spiritual descendants of Abraham. This is clear, there is a distinction between the two and you will be hopelessly lost in Eschatological matters as Hank now is. God's covenant with the Jew's will be kept. God is not a man that He should lie.

in this is your error friend. Meeting him in the air and him touching down are two separate events. His return to earth requires him to touch down on the earth, to come out of the firmament the first heaven. God created the heavens and the earth, two distinct places in scripture. Jesus gathering us to himself in the clouds of the first heaven is not his second coming to earth, it is not called a return but a rapture a gathering of the Saints to himself so that we may also be where he is. And from there we return with him, Jude 1:14-15 John 14:3 “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” We must go to heaven than come to earth with him in his return to rule with him for 1000 years. Scripture never says we go to heaven again. When Jesus returns the millennial reign begins. After the great tribulation Satan is loosed for a time than Armageddon, great white throne judgment and on into eternity with the new heaven and a new earth where the new Jerusalem comes down out of heaven to the new earth. Where do you see us in your theology ever going to be where Jesus is now seated at the right hand of the father, John 14:3. How do you see us returning with Christ from the 3rd heaven (where he is) being possible if we are not first gathered to him in the clouds and taken where he has prepared a place for us🤔 So to clarify, if there is not a pre-Second Coming Rapture how do we go to be with him in the place he has prepared for us as seen in John 14:3 because his return to earth is until the end of this heaven and earth and it cannot be said that the new Jerusalem is where Jesus is now, where he has prepared a place for us because this event has not yet taken place. So in John 14:3 Jesus must be talking about where he is now in heaven seated at the right hand of the father, that’s where he’s coming from that’s where he takes us to and that’s where we return with him from at his second coming to rule and reign for 1000 years.

Truly, the rapture is not taught anywhere in the Bible. The word came from 1 Thes 4:16-17, “caught up” and translated to Latin w/c is “rapiemur”. In the context of Paul’s time, it was an idiom for surrendering to the conquering leader and his armies outside the city walls. And welcoming this leader with the citizens into the city with open arms and hearts. This is what Paul knew of the 2nd coming of Jesus. When the world has been reached with the gospel, and every tribe, nation calls on His Name. Then, He will come back. Every eye will see Him and the dead will be resurrected, then those who are alive and in Christ will be caught up with the resurrected believers in meeting up with Christ in the clouds to welcome Him in this world. Along with Jesus’ army of angels. Those unrepentant and who rejected Him will be gathered separately and tossed in eternal void without Him. Amen.

4:15 there is a distinction when you are apart from Christ. Orthodox Judaism does not believe in the Messiah so they are not part of the Olive tree (broken off) until they confess Messiah and say blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord and then Christ returns and those Jews are grafted in again. Romans 1:16 ► For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. Matthew 19:30 ► But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first. Revelation 20:6 Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.

Verse 14 “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.” The destruction of Jerusalem is something that was about to happen, which Jesus was explaining, but this would only be a foretaste of even greater global events that will take place at the end of the age.

The bible defines them as "scoffers" and has a severe punishment for them - that they be blotted out from the Book of Life. In Revelation we read that those whose names aren't in the Book of Life are cast into the Lake of Fire for eternity. Don't wait for the great trib to start to be convinced the rapture was real. If you missed the boat you're in big trouble! For at the 5th Seal judgement, those who stand with Christ (converts, repentant) are killed for their faith. They become the 'tribulation saints'. The raptured are the 'Church saints' and different. If you truly have the Holy Spirit in you, you will want to know rather than mock. Please get your faith right today.

The church is not still on earth during the great tribulation, (Night is coming where no one can work, John 9:4) Do you know what an age is?

Proof of a pre trib rapture pay attention to the cloud and Clouds Jesus appears in. Act's chapter 1 verses 9 10 11 cloud. Luke chapter 21 verses 27 and 28 cloud. In Revelation chapter 1 verse 7 Jesus is coming with the Clouds. This is the second coming of Jesus. God bless.......

Hank is still regurgitating these false claims that the pre-trib rapture originated from the 19th century. Do yourself a favor and do more reading so you can at least get up to date on the issue. Read one of the many articles by Francis Gumerlock and hopefully, you can at least remove that erroneous claim from your arsenal.

Hey Gary. We have a copy of The Early ad The End of the World by Gary Demar and Francis X. Gumerlock. Gumerlock says the opposite, and contends that many early church writers who commented on prophecy understood the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70 to be the end of the Old Covenant world.

Gumerlock himself is a preterist but he has written extensively on the fact that the Pre-Trib view is early and that it's a myth to propogate the 19th century view as Hank does. Here's a couple of the articles he's published: "A Rapture citation in the Fourteenth Century," in BibSac 159, "The Rapture in the Apocalypse of Elijah," in BibSac 170, "The Rapture in an Eleventh Century Text," in BibSac 176. He doesn't hold the view himself but he's an honest historian.@@BibleAnswerMan

@@garytakahashi91 Your use of the word arsenal is stained with Self & its condemnation therein. The fact is that the church system of man has become virtually incapable of raising up Christ-Led, actual followers of Jesus. Consequently the church system of man has loosed a reprobate minded world. Moreover, the church system is virtually indecipherable from the world itself. By virtue of that alone, espousing the notion of God rapturing believers out of here in the face of Him turning all systems of man in society, foremost its beloved church system, over to the very evil it perpetually acquiesces to & now in massive numbers vehemently defends, is deadly.

Pretrib theology (John Nelson darby) is as old as the Morman church (John smith). Both started around 1830s american revivals, and do not go back to early church. Matt 24 speaks of the destruction of the temple in A.D. 70. Read verses 1-3 'the stones' Chapter 25 deals with true Christians vs those that profess christ and care more about the world.

Do a little more research on that, I think you'll find it goes way back

Please don't as he believed in a pre-Trib rapture. He taught Jesus would return in 1981. Of course he was proven wrong and hence was a false prophet. If you are to follow anyone please follow Christ and don't be too concerned about the timing of the rapture other than to be prepared and keep a watch as Jesus Himself warned in Matthew 24; "42 Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. 43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. 44 Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect."
