I love the MacArthur Study Bible. I have the NASB ‘95. Great quality, beautifully done above all it is God’s word with his commentary. John MacArthur is a solid bible teacher, loves the word. There’s plenty of study bibles with the pastor’s name like David Jeremiah, Warren Weirsbe, Henry Morris , Charles Ryrie to name a few.

I love the LSB bible! Last night I preordered my copy here in Australia from an Australian seller I know well. Since I already have the first edition handy size LSB in Shaman goatskin, and a tan premium goatskin MacA study Bible in NKJV, I shall be getting the premium imitation leather copy which will be just fine. I cannot justify paying $400 right now for goatskin. 🙏📖✝️💟🇦🇺

Randy, once again you’ve produced a stellar and thorough review. Thank you for the preview. Professional and gracious as always. I have one of these coming from 316 Publishing. Are you anticipating getting one of those to review also, as I expect it’ll take its time to get to me? Now if you could just use your influence and have a word in the right person’s ear, to convince them to produce a TCR in the LSB, then I’d be set! 😂😂. Now that they have it in the Comfort Print, it should be easy, right? Right?

I am a chart person. I like the larger print used for the charts in this Bible. You are right in saying that it's a large Bible, but I really need a larger font size. I could probably manage reading the text, but the focus of a Study Bible is on the notes as well as charts and maps. If I can't read the notes and references, it won't do me any good! I don't carry my Study Bibles to church. My Study Bibles are tools, like my Bible Dictionaries and other commentaries, so they live within my reach at home. I'm going to follow the link you provided and see if there is a large print available. Thank you for this review. I no longer have a MacArthur Study Bible in any translation because of the small font used. Hopefully, a large print will be available. :)

There is also a steadfast bibles version of this that has a different cover with some yap but otherwise the content is the same. That Bible is slightly larger on the outside and the print appears to be a little smaller though, or maybe it has a smaller line spacing. I feel this version as a result is easier to read than that one.

Very nice review. I wonder if they have a verse by verse edition of the study Bible. If not, are they planning to? It would be a thicker and heavier edition but that is fine if just using it at home for study.

Thanks! They haven't mentioned any plans for it.

So, there is no real uniqueness to it beside being the LSB translation? No notes unique to the LSB like 1 Peter 3:2 why they worded it like that?
@dale54972 ай бұрын
Where ever the notes referencece the LSB scripture, no doubt any captured text has been updated. We will need to see the text to confirm.
@BibleBuyingGuide2 ай бұрын
No. There are no notes on the translation.
@jeffp23232 ай бұрын
I believe the commentary was originally written based on the either the KJV or NKJV translation. And every time they’ve added it to a study Bible of another translation they used the same notes without any updates.

I don't know. I have an issue with any preacher putting their name on a Bible. They just seem like vanity projects which just misses the point of the Bible.

Not to mention this “anti prosperity” preacher has a net worth of more than $12 million. He’s in the business of business - selling books, being paid to attend conferences, sits in boards with people who sit on his boards and set salaries for each other, etc …
@dsanders742 ай бұрын
Historically, most commentaries and some bibles have a name on it., probably for the notes in research gathered. I'm sure John would have preferred to not his name on it. But, I get what you mean. I wonder if someone ever thought to put the notes in a separate book.

I don’t have an issue with it. We’re called to discern. Do you trust your pastor not to lead you astray? If my pastor had a Bible with his commentary, I would consider it a blessing to receive his full insight. I would be discerning throughout and I would compare and contrast other interpretations but “interpretations” every one is anyway. John MacArthur has led many to Christ and that in his job. John has “planted seeds”. Christ will grow those seeds into fruitful plants.

So disappointed there has never been a KJV considering it is the true preserved Word of God in English and John had no issue using the KJV in the 60's and 70's. We don't need more "translations." Just another way for companies to make money, with their copyrighted material.
@andyYoutubeEmailАй бұрын
Agree we don’t really need anymore translations though I wouldn’t have recommended the KJV as a translation to resurrect and use. Looking at Bibles from that era the Geneva Bible was actually a better preserved translation than the KJV anyhow. Any translation promoted by a pagan King is not my preference. Kind of a lesser translation than what we had back then.
