Not sure that I really need another study Bible but my ESV study Bible is not my favorite translation, so the selling point of the Thomas Nelson LSB Study Bible that I prefer between these 2 bibles is the LSB translation and a chance to read MacArthur's notes. Maybe I will settle for the Leather bound one but I can't decide yet. Thanks for your video as always.

I have the MacArthur Study Bible in NASB 2nd edition in leather soft. It's a nice bible but had some defects which Thomas Nelson is usually known for good quality. They will replace it for free under their lifetime guarantee. I put it up with it for nearly a year but decided to take them up on their offer as it's a $90 bible retail with thumb index. These Bibles are made in China, including even the goatskin and real leather. Normally the LSB from steadfast bibles are made in Korea or Netherlands.

I bought a blue goatskin from Stedfast as a preorder and it’s beautiful Bible. I’d like to get a second copy as one to mark up in study and keep the blue one for just reading to keep it nice. For a second copy I’m stuck between the Thomas Nelson one and getting another Stedfast one. The difference is in price. I can get a genuine leather Thomas Nelson one from Grace to You for $85.00 that includes shipping and I probably will go that route for a second copy that will marked up. I collect premium bibles as well so I’d like to keep the blue Stedfast Goatskin in good condition. I like and trust John MacArthur so I really like his study bible. He’s one of the few trustworthy big name pastors out there. I thank the Lord for him and his faithfulness.

I'm curious....what was the point of the LSB? Maybe you've already covered this in a previous video and I simply missed it. But as a NASB 95 reader, I'm struggling to figure out what problem was solved by the release of the NASB 2020, and a year later, releasing the LSB. As far as I can tell, it seems as if the Lockman Foundation is fixed upon the idea of cannibalizing itself. Do you have any insights on this?

I bought the least costly, hardcover, a few references only LSB when it first came out, just to see how it read. I am not interested in a Study Bible in this translation because I already have a MacArthur Study Bible in the NASB, which is very close to the LSB translation. I used to listen to John MacArthur's sermons regularly in the late 2018-22s, and then, which is normal for me, I moved on to a different pastor. There were always a few things he preached on that I didn't totally agree with, but that's the same with others I have listened to. I enjoy learning from really smart men, and I count Pastor MacArthur as one of them. However, I have been one of many who are taking advantage of the Internet and finding others who are also brilliant men, praise God! I find it interesting that the LSB is being produced by TN now. I suppose I thought that it would be a 316 exclusive. It's nice to see that people have a choice between the two. Thank you for the comparison. :)

Speaking of having more beliefs in common with KJV-Onlyists, I actually almost considered visiting a church over their constitution being almost 100 percent the same as my own beliefs. What turned me off to that church was the KJV Only clause in their constitution (they also gave to much authority to the pastorate). I wound up finding a church with a similar constitution without those two issues, but it is 13 miles away from my house. The churches nearer to me are either too "seeker friendly" (read: trying to be appealing to worldly people) or they are too far the other direction (unopen to change of any kind).
@danbrown586Ай бұрын
There's certainly a range of "premium," but it's disappointing that a $200+ Bible is printed in China (even if it is on "European Bible Paper" according to Steadfast). I know my Schuyler Quental isn't a direct comparison, as it lacks the study notes, but it also cost less and was printed in .nl.
@dale5497Ай бұрын
This bothered me for a while, too, and then I was reminded of the secular and immoral hellholes that most Western countries have become, and it mattered less. Have you been to Amsterdam recently? We live in a fallen world.
@donhagner4845Ай бұрын
That was likely part of the arrangement with Thomas Nelson (holder of the MSB copyright). The comparison here really is about the quality of the binding and the few extra pages in the Steadfast Bibles edition with MacArthur’s Introductory notes. My other LSB Bibles were either printed in the Netherlands or Korea.

It bothers me that a Bible would have someone's name in the title. Am I being too sensitive? Am I? Why not call it something else, like "Holy Bible" with perhaps a small line about it being MacArthur's study notes or something like that?
@donhagner4845Ай бұрын
That is largely a publisher’s marketing decision. It is helpful, much like a denominational “brand” on your local church. I would never use a 'study Bible' because of the notes in it that simply reflect the biases of the person writing the notes in the study bible. MacArthur is an empty cloud who is deceiving many weak minded Christians with his favourite heresy called dispensationalism not to mention his many other silly ideas. I have had first hand information on some of the abhorrent teachings of the MacArthur cult and warn anyone who is still in the cult to leave immediately. If you want a Bible to study the last thing you want is a study Bible. Let the Spirit speak to you not some puffed up preacher that will not tolerate questions.

@@earlsiebold536 first point, jesus says “ on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.” So you saying churches just deviated means jesus isn’t keeping his promise? 2nd point, “worship of Mary” it is not, it’s an intersection, just like Mary asked Jesus to perform a miracle at the wedding. 3rd Orthodox dont “Worship” Icons, it’s an old custom of paying respect 🫡, like paying respect to an elder or your grand parents, it’s something not really done in the US. I’m leaving Protestantism, there’s no way some dude in the 1600 ( Martin Luther) just one day got up and said “ they’ve been Heretical all these years since the first Church at Pentecost, BUT I GOT IT RIGHT” Yeah after looking at history and how Paul went to a church like the Orthodox, my vision cleared up
