The prophets are accurate about long past events because GOD was eye witness to them and the prophets are writing His eye-witness account, not something they learned in a history class passed on by way of human knowledge. Before being commissioned, Amos was a small town shepherd and farmer, not a noble or scholarly man. By this we know that the prophets are also accurate about future events, because God is an eye witness and the prophets faithfully recorded His eye witness account of those events as well.

Or they just wrote an historically accurate contemporary writing of the time… considering they lived.. in that time. Fuck all to do with god being an eye witness… and these writers writing gods eye witness account ya loon

Great program, I have been blessed with the way you have linked or connected the Historical facts to the BIBLICAL writings; this is right up my street, and gives me affirmation to further support the process of my growing acceptance in the UNDENIABLY PROVEN reality of GOD THE CREATOR AND HIS CREATION OF ALL THAT IS and has Existed . GOD BLESS you all.

I don't find remembering a migration fur more than 500 years too surprising. In a more modern context the Philistines forgetting where they came from would be something akin to the Mexicans forgetting Cortes. Even if the oral tradition forgot or distorted the details of the events, the role Spain played on reshaping the region would be difficult to overlook.

Hi All! The Names found in Amos and Jeremiah, two Prophets, were given to them from God (the LORD) and they wrote them down. This is why the ultimate source of History is Scripture. Yes, Archaeology plays a part in confirming Scripture but dating of finds may not be accurate as has been shown in the past. That said, all these findings strengthen our Faith in the Bible and the Creator.

Preachers still reliably preach the history of Noah and the flood, as they have for thousands of years. THAT'S precisely what priests do. They preserve the history and knowledge, as well as teaching about God.

This is most informative and also fascinating. Thankyou. I have been seeking information on the philistines over the years (amateur) and this information ties together so many aspects ….. DNA/ Egyptian records/ Biblical writings/ trade around the Mediterranean/ the Phoenician traders/ the Minoan script/ the Philistines & the Canaanites and more. Thankyou again❗️

Excellent report. The archeological timelines in the Bible are filling in quite nicely. Re the giants as part of the Philistine history, Sardinia has a long history. Possibly fled or migrated there during Joshua's inquests of the promised land.

The Greeks and their Allies did not sit outside the walls of Troy playing cards and waiting for Red Cross boxes from home for ten years. For certain they raided the coast and fed themselves and got the long waited booty from coastlands, both south and north. Some stayed and kept the villages for themselves.

Lead is more often a bi product of silver mining, so if they had all this lead to export and trade then they would have been very rich in silver as well.....

Please note that Deuteronomy 33 v 25 speaks of Nechoshet, which is copper, not bronze. It is a pure metal, not a mixture. The King James use of the term bronze is connected to the word brazen, meaning highly polished, shiny. (As in the polished copper mirrors) And so it has become common to interchange the word bronze for copper. But it is incorrect.

i think you are wrong. ""Genesis 21:34 In-Context 32 After the treaty had been made at Beersheba, Abimelek and Phicol the commander of his forces returned to the land of the Philistines. 33 Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba, and there he called on the name of the LORD, the Eternal God. 34 And Abraham stayed in the land of the Philistines for a long time."" Abraham lived in 19th Century BC (1800s BC). So the people BEFORE the 12th Century invaders from Crete/Greece/southern Italy were the Philistines. The genetic evidence shows there were peoples who lived in these cities before the invaders mentioned by Egypt.

I agree with you. The Philistines are Canaanites, seemingly infused with later arrivals from......possibly the Aegean.

Why marvel that trade from England to Israel existed then? Over and over again, it says in the prophets: "that all the earth may know"...there is a God in Israel. They even knew in North America about Jeremiah buying a field.

Was 1492 so long ago? We have 2000 years of history for Europe via Roman conquest. Why are these archeologist acting like judges of a part they never witnessed?

Greek mythology matches the travels, as well. Left out of the Bible doesn't necessarily mean false historically. False god/worship, yes. Also, 3rd millennium easily knows things of the 16th and 17th centuries. ...although, Shakespeare is almost not taught any longer; as well as trades and cultural practices.

You need some atheists on this channel. Real hardcore atheists. Like, I am an agnostic. Doesn't mean I can't respect the bible as historical record. Hell, even Genesis chapter 1 could be interpreted in the context of simplified evolutionary biology.

Thank you for the points made, to put evidence and biblical writing alongside them, people have been trying to say that the Christians Bible, is inaccurate information contained in it, and after longe enuff, you find that it sways the point's, to what they say, into having you to question it, to say, can I trust that the Christians Bible, is inaccurate or accurate, puts a swerve in you, and as, the Jews say that we Christians, are wrong, it hurts, and the researching, going on, is the fact bass part, to give evidence, to provide the solid Proff, to evaluate, all information, is strictly defining, all parties, on the topic, of discussion, with the teachings that the past, of long ago, has, and must show, so we can know what is real, and serious about what is not, I very much appreciate your words on this, to know what is real, especially in this time of the world, thank you as I had found, the questions were too great, for me, and I had stopped trying to find out, from confusion and tiredness, and aloneness, since I don't have a church, as I don't go to any, being a Christian is very hard, I didn't know what you were meant to believe, so I didn't choose a church, for fear of being swayed by any, I should stay away from, I think of myself as a, cupboard Christian, without a church, so I believe but don't have a church, I rely on archaeology research being told, to pinpoint exactly what the Bible, says, to allow, me guidance, on if I am write to be Christian, or not.

You need to join a church that teaches the Bible accurately, because God tells us to keep meeting together. It’s essential for building you up, and other people need your presence as a blessing. It makes a huge difference.
