from what I recall, there is at least one other game that you can bid more than you have, and money in this game is the only thing you're about to keep secret from your opponents. this game is Friesematenten by - who would have thought - Friedemann Friese himself. it's like Power Grid lite, but some of the cards you buy you can actually use against others. it is not really popular worldwide, but worth an effort thou and your vids are very good, waaay much better than "yet another review"! :)

I havent watched the whole vid, but I'm guessing you can give up moneycards when you're buying money with cards, since you play them facedown? In that case it would have been a smart move to bid 2 cards at 13:50 and just pay with 2 '1 money'-cards. You get 2 money for 2 money, so that's a 0-operation, but you deny Jenn getting 2 gold for only 1 card =)

Doesn't happen to us often, but still a letdown when the last cards all end up being gold cards lol. I've lost a few games holding out for a card I thought was in the bid deck and was never there. :(

So... now that I sort of of understand this, is Biblios DICE any quicker or easier to learn? The bluffing/bidding part is NOT what I like about this but I could learn...

i would day BD is easier to learn. it's arguably a bit more complex, but it's also more "standard" in the stuff it does. biblios itself is a really oddball game
