What sold me on this was gaining the falcon on your arm, and then flipping the falcon to see it flying away. Love it.

This game is fantastic. I am a tough critic of thematic games but this game really has some depth to it when you consider the limited number of actions and time that you have. Great stuff and great play through as always.

When you position yourself to take on the empowered gor at the spot 14: I believe the troll would move there first from 18, so the boss would jump straight to 7.

What's the bloody point of increasing ones strength if the boss goes up 2 strength for each strength I increase? I really have issues with the mechanism that gives the boss double the strength of the heroes.

I think this win is valid. As you note, the dwarf should have defeated the first gor alone, therefore finishing his fate with the second gor just in time. Also, if the empowered gor gains two strength each time the party gains one, it makes sense to have as little strength as possible, so Jenn would not have taken strength from the elves or bought more strength, and you would have left the prince behind, for a net *increase* in damage of 6. I too am skeptical about a mechanic that makes sending the weakest party possible the best way to win the game, from a thematic point of view. From a purely mechanical point of view it is just fine, because it makes decisions more interesting.

i do love watching your playthroughs :-) The game looks great but time is a bit short given that killing enemies decreaces the time you have left... that's offputting

Well, the Gor would have been actually a WAY tougher, because he would not have the strength of 16 (not 12, (6+2)x2), but 28! (6+4+4)x2. He's really tough. It's maybe not actually a good idea to fight him with the Prince, because he just raises Gor's strength effectively by 4 (plus 8 for Gor, plus 4 for the heroes). Anyway, I admire the amount of work you put into this and I understand the difficulty of playing and shooting the video at the same time. Just for clearing things out:-)

I was thinking of buying this game, but having seen how the clock goes forward every time you kill a monster, it just seems that there's no time for exploration and the game is too short. For me a fantasy game should be epic and involve a lot of levelling up you character. This feels like it goes almost immediately to the end game and you have no game choices other than minmiaxing the defence of the castle.

The answer to this is: house rules! Feel free to move the clock every three monsters have been killed, for example :)

vodkaman1970 Andor is a puzzle game, not a dungeon crawler or something like that. It's definetly not a short game tho, a single legend can take hours to complete, and can be pretty challenger. The thing is, Andor is all about manegement. Manegement of actions. It's a puzzle. You have to overcome the odds by strategic positioning, movement, item manegement and think before going into a battle. Maybe you havin expactations that are impossible to Andor to live by, because you are seeing it the wrong way.

What similar games without the timer dependence would you guys recommend, then? Thanks!

Somebody said "house rules". Thats what I do. For example, 1 Day passed every 3 monsters killed. That way you got more days (in legend 3 I started with 6 monsters 2 days away from the castle with only 2 heroes defending. Almost impossoble. Maybe with 4 heroes it's easier). Also, I felt that group battles are too easy (in the video you can see that he wins 24-10 the first monster). So to make it harder, I stablished that in team attacks the monsters uses the result of both dices every time. That way I made the battles harder but with enough time to win the game if you set up a good strategy. "But that are not the real game rules!" Who cares? For me it feels better that way and challenging too

This game looks good but I find the timer moving up when you kill monsters annoying... looks like it anyways...

I love this game!! Thing is, I've been stuck on legend 3 forever. There's just never enough time and your so over matched. I'm trying 3 characters for the first time but given the game levels difficulty to player number I don't expect much difference. My start is already bad, wardrak, two trolls, and a fate card with a tough gor that has strength 11, how is this even remotely possible? I've tried about 20 times in the last year as the game hits the table off and on, plus I have all expansions waiting and I won't touch them until I progress the story. I want to try the north expansion but my stubbornness to beat this won't let me.

The game looks great! No offense but strategy and 5-coffe-speed-talking-moving is not an ideal combination. You miss easy gains more than once and has to re-do. I do learn a lot from watching that... very good video with part per part.

I'm sorry :-) but actually you would have hit him for two (you have 36 - 16+16+4 vs. his 34). Without the prince, it would have been 32 vs. his 26 and you would have just narrowly not killed him!
