FYI - I had a proximal bicep tear a year ago doing Atlas stones in my driveway. No video or announcement was posted, just wanted to focus on recovery. (Surgery was not recommended by my physicians). Looks funny still, but feeling okay again! :-) Pretty happy with this! Have any of you had a bicep tear, how did you guys recover and get back to training?

Haven't had a bicep tear but deathly afraid to get one. So I am awaiting the day until James Fuller of Strongman Archeology releases his book on bicep health he mentioned during you guys' interview. Seem to be unintentionally doing more reps for bloodflow and tendon health because of my fear of the tear. 😅

December 2008, I tore the insertion of my left biceps off the ulna bone. It pulled free with a loud snap. The way I snapped it was doing 105 chained around my waist for sets of 8 on underhand pull-ups with an EZ bar. First set, no sweat. It let go on the 5th or 6th rep of second set. Showing off for the wife. ;) At first I wasn't sure what happened because there wasn't much pain (common), but I knew intuitively that something fairly catastrophic had occurred. I was really hoping I hadn't torn my biceps... then showering later, sure enough, the biceps was getting shorter. A couple weeks later I had it re-attached by a very skilled plastic surgeon who specialized on hands. I began super light training 8-10 weeks later (at surgeon's recommendation). My big question for the surgeon was, "When can I go full throttle?" If I remember right, he said I was good to go in 6-12 months, but that the hole in my forearm bone and the titanium button he'd attached the tendon to would be fully calcified in 18 months. That's what I wanted to know. Up until 18 months, I trained "for a pump" to get blood to the area without placing undue stress. Once past 18 months, I jammed the accelerator to the floor and haven't looked back. Surgeon did a great job. Russ Barlow, awesome powerlifter from Maine suffered a biceps tear, had it reattached and later exceeded his best dead. I don't recall his exact poundage now but it was well into the 8s. His recovery inspired me. The injury has left an impressive S shaped scar from my biceps down my forearm. As a conversation piece, it's second only to a war wound or bear/tiger attack. Best of luck!

Hey @jujimufu, just observed the usage of your smelling product and I see people smelling, getting the hit and then clumsily trying to close the container. Are there bottles of smelling products that auto close after a hit, and so robust that you can toss / drop the package, so you can start lifting, in stead of fidgeting? Something like a pezz-dispenser, or something with a trigger-opening?
