Smashed a push & pull session this evening. This ticked off a great & memorable year but especially last 3 months in which I hit a lifetime Bench Press PR of 160kg.

Hi Barry! I'm a boring old man. I'm going to give you some advice and that's to listen to your body. You're getting older and you only have one body. It's important that it lasts your whole life. Listen to your body. Have fun and practice having a nice symmetry according to yourself in your world. Stay healthy and feel good. Keep your strength at the level you are at now. If you want to change your situation and push yourself harder in your training, there's nothing stopping you from doing it in six months or a year. Regardless, good luck and a happy new year! 💪😉💪

Hello Big Barry. Great video again. I would love to see you go all in and try and increase your squat max. I love the compound movements like bench, deadlift and squats as i have got older. If you put as much energy into increasing your squat as you did the bench 160 then it will make for some great videos. Keep them coming my man.
@barrythomsonliftsАй бұрын
Might have a go at getting bigger deadlift
@clearthinker9507Ай бұрын
@@barrythomsonlifts That will be great to see for sure. Do a winter of strength building with both squats and deadlifts and in your summer switch to the body building. Look forward to watching what ever you do mate.

You could just wrap those 27.5's with some tape or some sort of wrap as those wide grip things are maybe a bit to thick and tend to roll. Smashing it Barry, all the best.

Another great workout Barry, killing those biceps. Looking forward to your next challenge ...dead lift maybe, but if your squat is weak I would try to improve it. Wishing you and your family a Happy New Year and a prosperous 2025

Impressive progress how do you keep yourself from getting injured ? How you deal with recovery?

Take glucosamine for recovery. I train evenings so my recovery is sleep. Take D3 and K2 alongside Probiotics

I would say do what you feel is best for you. I on the other hand would love to see you do a power lifting program west side or Calgary barbell program and see where you could go with a structured power lifting program.

if i should give u some advice on the too-small-grip on your dumbbells, perhaps u could use those fat-grip on your dip frame and attach to those dumbbells (if possible?) tht is.... and yeah, Lee Priest had blessed arms from above lol! ...and hamstrings, and quads ....and so it goes
@barrythomsonliftsАй бұрын
The fat grips roll on the small grip DBs but do help. Havent done that for awhile but you've luckily just reminded me. Thank you :)

Both squat and deadlift. If you get 220kg deadlift (and you would pretty fast) thats really good. After that focus squat
