DK PTR Changes and Tier Sets

Just gonna let you guys know in case the breath changes come through, spending the howling blast rime proc counts as spending a rune for things like gathering storm and also the old pillar stacking streng buff, which is pretty interesting since i imagine will want to spend all those procs during breath. Theres also the fact that it doesnt say theres a maximum time for stacking breath, which means you are gonna be able to stack a lot of time at the start of the fight with bloodlust + erw active. I imagine breath being extremely long specially during those BL phases, so if a version of this hits live, i hope they add a maximum time that you can have ''saved'' for your breath

This version of breath would be so much better. You can finally use the full value of obliteration while in it and you have breath always just be in Pillar and dont need to think about holding pillar for breath or breath for pillar.

tnx for the video i guess one of the problem is that for example shaman can use almost same stat for enhance and ele but for dk frost and unholy is different stats than each other so u must play only frost or unholy atleast at the start of season and the next problem with dk specially frost dk now is that when ur cd finishes u cant do anything and when you are using ur CD but u have to go out of pack or from boss because of any mechanic u lose ton of dmg cuz u have only 10 sec for pillar and its to low and the next thing is if frostscythe gives us more timer on buff after pillar so i guess we have more dmg after cooldowns and its good and i hope they lower some of frost dk effect arround u when u are using breath and remorsless winter because its harder to see stuff on the grounds and i rly hope they remove GCD from D&D and grip its rly annoying with breath

hope they implement that much cleaner breath design. but hope more that sanlayn unholy is viable, i wanted to play that since back in original ptr when it was off the charts lol. ironically it seemed similar to how you play breath now, except insetad of spamming your strike to desperately keep number up for breath, you were spamming strike to jam pack as much damage in the window as possible.

The only thing Im scared about with the unholy set is that we would move away in m+ from the non apo build as you tend to overcap on runic power a lot there with spamming scourge strike

Still hoping that they do something with 2h frost so it isn't like 8% behind in ST.

Idk where you got that number from, but comparing bis setups, 2H is only 3-4% behind on ST according to the class discord sims. The real issue of 2H is in the AoE department, the reduced amount of KM procs makes avalanche noticably weaker, and using GA as an AoE filler doesnt really compensate for the lack of both BoS and shattering blades.

Sets aren't class themed and are basically duplicated aross classes...that sucks big time....UDK still has so much set up can feel clunky and still doesnt have much raid utility (if you want grips you'd bring blood dk). Was really hoping we would have got a bit of a rework since wounds and DC have so much junk baked into them the pie tastes funny now....

Hard disagree about the survivability nerfs. If we don't bring any special utility and they refuse to make us strong or even just rework us then I think getting to survive better than other dps specs is a reasonable 'compromise.'

We don't just survive better than other DPS though, we die less than tanks we die less than any other class or spec in the game. It's reasonable to nerf it.

Hate it or love it, grip IS a special utility. Besides, our tankiness has been absurd and still is. Tank dies in the miniboss opener of a weekly+10 necrotic wake, arakara or stonevault? No biggie, the frost dk will finish it off. We live naked through most mechanics which oneshot other melees through a cooldown. Its busted.

honestly hoping that bos change doesnt make it to live, I love breath how it is now and changing that would make me drop the spec entirely and play something else. with it being currently unlisted in the ptr changes it seems to me like its still in an internal testing phase and blizz may be still experimenting with other possibilities aswell.
