John, I have a theory on why some search terms work when triggered from broad or phrase. I myself have added search terms that converted but they don't work as well even though they get more budget when I added them as keywords. So my theory is that Google bids at the search term level and they show certain search terms when they "know" they can convert but when they are added as keywords and get more budget, the keyword is shown to more people who are not as likely to convert. So you have to think about whether to add certain search terms so that they don't take away budget from a keyword that is performing well. Especially if you are limited by budget and adding them to an existing campaign or ad group.

Is high enough volume to make a Broad KW approach work important on the campaign level or really per BM Keyword? So would it be true to add less BM Keywords the lower your budget/Conversion volume is?

Hi John. To start a new search campaign would you recommend using max conversion bid strategy to start of with even though the campaign is new with no conversion data ?
