Its annoying but if you use proper lane mathematics and have dedicated lanes everywhere they use up the roads pretty evenly. Im at 360K and my traffic is still at 80%. I want Biffa to see my city but I don't really have anything that needs fixing! Might even be as bold to say that he might learn a thing or to from me lol. Something he always misses is increasing the lane count at the intersections. I have learned that if you have say a 4 lane road at a busy 3 or 4 way intersection or an off ramp on a highway to roads. If you upgrade the road to a 6 or even 8 lane and use dedicated lanes, they will pack in so much more cars in the same amount of nodes.

To be fair, if this person was approaching the problem anything like how I did when I started playing (and I suspect they were, because the overall result looks a lot like the cities I made at the time), then this spaghetti is the result of several iterations of "I have lots of traffic here. One problem: lack of road hierarchy. Absolute pita to fix, best way are those workarounds Biffa uses. Any big change rerouting traffic might break the whole city again. Highway -> Arterial road -> Collector road -> Local road. Always obey this order and traffic will be fine. Break it and you're playing roulette. Maybe it works, probably not. If you act on this, you'll probably end up with some bridges over the river, because only main roads cross it, but no local roads. Looks more real, and leads to better traffic :)

i like the "Worldabout". It serves its purpose quite well. If you have a tunnel across for the main road i think there are 2/3 that join to other side it would work even better. As for the cross junction at the bottom with all that mess you could make that one a single line right through the middle to make the design to look like a cross hair

This is the most beautiful road network I have ever seen. My fix would be adding another highway on the river and maybe some more tunnels. Great videos, thx!

I'm astounded that someone could create this. This looks like Rube Goldberg set up the road system. It is honestly just amazing to look at.

I'm a noob to CS, but I am quite impressed how he got those roads there in the first place. Fixing it will be even more epic.
