Shouldn't alleyways run perpendicular to roads so providing a shortcut for pedestrians from one street to another. Back alleys are fine for looking like a terrace where you put your bins etc but you would always have alleyways between them so you don't have to walk to the end of your road every time.

Depends on where you live. In America, most of them run parrallel to the houses like he has them here.

16:25 hey Biffa, the "unoccupied buildings" thing means that the houses that are already built arent full - meaning there's a few houses without residents living in them. You'll have to wait for people to move into those houses first before new houses can be built.

With the lowering grass into ground, you don’t need to use the transform menu. Anarchy now has a set elevation tool, you can use negative values. And you can also lock the elevation using anarchy too. So it can be done very quickly 👍

Good to see another City Skylines 2 video :) Regarding that park-like area at the 5-minute mark, I'd guarantee it would have seen no use in real life because the concrete would turn that place into a frying pan during Summer. We had in my city a similar place, despite people saying to keep it green as much as possible, the city authorities placed stone and concrete. No one used that place. Only now, it's being ripped apart to plant trees, and bushes and place lawn.

Hey biffa. A great use of space is to create a cricket field! Picket fence all the way around the outside, grass texure for the field while sand works well for a pitch. line decals for the pitch markings and infield circle, a stand and a couple of shaded sports seat thingys for the players on the outside of the field, even blank billboards for sight screens. Wish I could post a pic here of my build, but youll work it out. It's a great idea for a build and makes things look pretty. Add a few parks around the outside and you have a great area. Cricket is the second largest sport in the world, it's time cities gets a cricket pitch!

I'm working on it... ;o) Transparent decal for marking a 22-yard strip, maybe a couple of scuffed up ones to mark used pitches. Could throw in a 30-yard ring marker too I suppose... forgot about those (we don't use those in our league)

We have some green space here - let's put concrete over it! Yeah, that's sadly how most of the public spaces is "reconstructed", "revitalised" etc. these days :'( Why to bother with maintaining the lawn and just build couple of paths, resting areas etc., when a sweeper run over the concrete twice a day is everything you need to maintain it... BTW it could be pretty interesting if CS2 could simulate the city heat distribution, taking into account density and materials used in places, and generate a heat map based on the current weather, and eventually have people complaining when it starts to get bad :)

I agree. A Heat map would be cool for recreating cities like Phoenix Arizona.

Every time I hear the city name, a smile crosses my face. Apart from the strip mall suggestion I put out in the last video (or the one before that), how about a American styled suburb of cul-de-sacs, with a throughfare curving through it - a place called Sweet Teeburb? Oh! And if you get a City Hall, why not give the politicians of New Brewburgh a pleasant park or plaza space, with plenty of tables and parasols, and maybe a little hut serving beverages, so they got somewhere to talk city business while enjoying a nice cuppa!

I like that you've thrown in a kids' football pitch. Unless it's an artificial pitch you might want to grub it up a bit with some mud and stains, for that Extra touch. have to admit to a chuckle when you built the car park at the back of the shops... shop owners go "Great! Parking for our customers!" only to be disappointed when a big fence goes up stopping the direct access from the car park to the shops. Hehehe... Think Sully should go above me though, no way I'm above him. Like the wall though. Has an "Extra" quality about it...

Lol so what im really hearing here is the mod makers need to make some customizable asset database mod with save/load/copy/paste funtionality for the player to create their own assets... For example... Tree + ground color change + lowered bush undergrowth = custom asset which could be saved and used like any other game asset and placed all over the place. And maybe for an extra little bit of sauce on top add a functionality to save a "variable asset" where, lets use the above example again, the tree could have some minor variations, the shape of the color variation on the ground could have some variation, and the bushy undergrowth could also have some variation... then when pasted around each "custom tree setup" would be slightly different much like they game automatically does as you paint random trees in.

I gave it another shot because of the mods. Started 2 cities to see how things work at the beginning and went to do a "serious" one. While I understand that using Mods increases the chances of the game crashing or bugs occurring, the whole stick of not doing it in steam was compatibility issues and decreases in incompatibility. And while I still can work with a crashing game, when a bug appears in which I can't bulldoze streets anymore and it persists when reloading the game and save, it is game breaking. Or at least motivation breaking. Because my motivation went -100 the moment, I imagined that happening after 200 Hours in a city. But maybe they fix it? Yeah maybe, and even if they did it does not guarantee your save to be working. And I am not the person to load the game first thing to test if the save files are working again. What is this? alpha phase? I give it another shot in 2 months, maybe.
@BiffaPlaysCitiesSkylines6 ай бұрын
Bugs in mods are nothing to do with the game devs and would appear even if the mods were on steam. I've not come across that particular bug but using a mod manager like skyve (also on pdx mods) is the best way to sort any mod compatibility issues 👍
