That's looking a lot better, Biffa. I'd move the Metro stop over the road to the pedestrian side (as at the moment all the passengers have to risk their lives crossing between all those delivery trucks).

One possible change you may want to consider is the addition of a "trucks only" entry and exit, leaving the main entrance road for shoppers to alleviate the traffic into the shopping center. Aside from that, maybe add in small residential apartments maybe? The corners of the triangle the areas makes could possibly be a nice spot for nice upscale apartments. It would allow the workers somewhere close to work to live.

Hi Biffa! The area is a vast improvement over the Illuminati Center you had previous. I suggest making the service loop road completely separate from the customer loop road to improve the customer experience. You could have the service loop come directly off the highway to the back of the shops, and have the service road go under the customer loop near the underground station to help improve not only traffic flow, but keep the customer facing side free of truck traffic.

That looks soooo much better Biffa! 👏🏼 I love the plazas and trees through the middle. Makes it look like a place of interest instead of just a place to shop, well done! Few points, it needs more road connections! The road behind Morrison's is screaming for one. Maybe another connection to a main road from the waste facility too? Also, supermarkets usually have their parking in the front of the store right? With the cars parking parallel to the building as it makes it safer for pedestrians to walk from their cars
@shaneintheuk2026 Жыл бұрын
This is a massive improvement over the triangular one. It is a shame the Pedestrian Roads cause the shops to require a pedestrian area even though you have the spawn point behind the shop. I suspect you could use paths instead and it would work.

Another great video Biffa! Blightea is my favourite series atm. Great to see this town coming along. This looks much better than the old retail park. There are some minor housekeeping things that people have been mentioning in the comments; and it’s really awesome of you to consider those things as improvements to your build. I do think that the parking for the ‘flagship’ Morrison’s supermarket needs to be at the front of the store, not behind it. Lastly, I’d love to see some more leisure units in that trading estate; depending upon what assets are available. Maybe a cinema, or a gym? Keep up the good work!

Welcome back Blightea! Thought this day would never come 😅 that shopping park is massive improvement on the last one which I’ll admit baffled me when it was originally made. I also couldn’t help but notice that huge residential demand. Thinking you’ve got some major expanding to do very shortly.. maybe even a city centre of sorts with high density UK style buildings to erect? 🤔🤔🤔

I was one of the people who were complaining about this retail park. Thank you for listening us! It looks much better now! But I still have an idea: another separeted lane for the lorrys and trucks before the "half-roundabout" there and back as well. If you do it nicely, from the top it will be similar to new Tesla Gigafactory roads 😂 It won't slow down the cars to and from the retail park. At the Metro station the pedestrians are walking across the road constantly. Can you put the station to the pedestrian area?

You went and fixed a monster - made it beautiful 10/10 on the upgrades and then boom, those two paths. Lower the road to better height? Nah... Use a tunnel for the walking paths? Oh no my friend. Instead of parking either side and the parks on the inside, (which forces people to park on one side and then drive or walk through a parking lot to the shops on the other side) why not have the metro station and parking all in the middle. Then flank that one big parking lot with the parks and such. That way, they can park and are equal distance from both sides and the parking lot is bit more obscured by the green space on either side.

Nice to see another Blightea episode.. the trading estate is sooooo much better than before! I think it would make sense, now that you're using the pedestrian service buildings that the delivery trucks have a designated entrance/exit. Thinking of trading estates near me, you don't see the trucks using the same roads as customers, and with just a small T junction it's gonna get extremely busy... I also think an entertainment complex on the other side of the viaduct would add some synergy. Cinema, bowling alley, more restaurants, that kind of stuff...

It turned out great, much better than before. Clus made some "pedestrian roads". People walk on them in the middle just as they do on the DLC version. Since these are regular roads, you need to use TMPE and remove vehicles. That small inconvenience aside, they look really nice. The only disadvantage is they don't have the bollards across the ends of the streets where they meet up with regular roads.

For the entrance road into the half roundabout, could you make the left lane trucks only? Force the lorries into the left to go down the back of the shops and the cars to the road towards the car park. Would spilt the traffic up so both lanes are used :) Wonderful building as always!
@paulknight5018 Жыл бұрын
That's a lot better, but slightly spoiled IMHO by the lorries if they are using the service point why not move this to next to the recycling centre so roads are not jammed up for the centre? Alternatively use a separate lorries only road to enter and leave the centre?

This is a huge improvement, but you seem to have way more car parking than you need, and also having the trucks driving across the front of Morrissons, where they cross paths with the customer traffic and pedestrians, is weird. One thing I did like about the previous design was the attempt to keep the lorries away from the punters.
@simongeard4824 Жыл бұрын
One thought on the pedestrian-zone issues. You removed that zone because the buildings all had road access at the back, and you'd moved the delivery truck spawn points to the back - but I didn't notice if you also moved the garbage truck points? That might be why it was complaining, if those were still being accessed via the pedestrian-only roads?

Spawn points for the garbage trucks could go out the back of the shops too. Also, block cars from the truck roads behind the shops.

Hey 2 things that might help: In tmpe use lane connectors to give the truck turnoff its own lane and cars their own lane. It’ll help with the tailback. Also should try the policy in the pedestrian zone of “deliver everything”. It will give the effect you’re looking for. Can also rico a building or something to be a warehouse for commercial goods to help a bit with traffic that way. Also where your bus stops are you could try bus lanes or bus pedestrian roads on that section only to give a nice look

Great start on this area and feels like it can be developed as you slowly surround it with residential areas (that bit the other side of the railway viaduct screams residential new build to me) I think others have mentioned it, but a cinema and some late night eateries would be a good addition. That metro station needs to be loved as there's too much contention between the pedestrians and the traffic... It doesn't break the game but it just doesn't look safe. A little transit hub would be lovely although in reality there would be no public transit to a place like this in real life!

I really like the new design as before it looked like an industrial area, however, I think you may have added too much parking. The area is well served by transit so I think that so much focus on parking is unnecessary and could be better used for more greenspace or more standalone restaurants. Lastly you could change the pedestrian streets in the center of the one way system could be changed to transit/ped street a couple of buses could serve the new area.
