I think I prefer not having the yellow crosshatch in the road. It hides the beautiful lane lines underneath. I originally thought it was just a tool rendering something. But I come from a place that has never done something like that. In my mind, all intersections are "don't enter unless you can leave" heh. But now I'm blathering making it seem like I care more than I do. The internet is a tough place. You do you! Your videos are like a calming tea break for me and I look forward to every one.

As a minor suggestion, if you turn on anarchy you can make dirt/gravel walking paths move in between buildings and houses to give people a realistic cut across that they made without destroying buildings. You can do the same with walking paths in high density to make it look like minor alleyways

Park name suggestion: Lavender Tea Park, because of all those lavender trees (and people nowadays put lavender into everything, I've seen it in tea mixes, too). 10:14 I feel like an angled road would have been nice, the sharp triangle point the roads make on the top left fit perfectly with that sharp edge of the museum! I'd have loved it if they had been parallel too each other, that would have made it look as though the museum had been planned intentionally to reflect the surrounding! But I do like how that area turned out at the end.

At 18:40 - I'd also consider to have some pedestrian walkways to create shortcuts in that loop. At least in the real world people do like shortcuts. You can also use the "Home"button to get a road to the ground level instead of pgup/pgdown. At 28:41 I see that the ferry stop is absurdly high above the water.
@jameshyndes14434 жыл бұрын
38:54 maybe put an Old Town policy on that area to force people onto the highways? Although the avenue through the middle will probably want leaving off that. Also might be an idea to put a high rise ban around the Art Museum, just so it stands out. I think that’d look nice.

7:20 Where you've just put in the round about on the new section you are going to begin to fill in, there is that railroad track that is just to the right of that. Instead of what you've done and make the road to up and over the track and down again the next side, why don't you keep the railroad track elevated? The track is elevated to cross the highway just to the north So, keep it elevated and have it slope down after it crosses the Boulevard you've made and have it hit the ground just before the river? 7:44

Its a box junction! The rule is something like do not enter the box (shaded area) unless your exit is clear unless you are taking up a position to turn right. You have often used the option in traffic manager to disable it as its on by default. Looks nice to see them painted in yellow.

If going for realism, at 6:30 separating 2 directions of traffic or at the edge of the carriageway, real roads have hatchings rather than chevrons, at least in the UK, western Europe and South Africa where I've driven. They are slanted such that they 'bar the way' onto them (that's the way I always think about it anyway). Chevrons are used to separate one way traffic - they point upstream to bar the way from both sides. Some ASCII art to demonstrate (where driving on the right):

i have never seen that yellow grid thing. In Canada any road marking that get covered by snow, etc will not hold up in court unless there is signage that marks the area as well. In Dec/Jan you would never see ANY yellow road markings.
@drakedbz4 жыл бұрын
Yeah that yellow box thing is not something we have in the US. You said it was to tell drivers not to enter the intersection unless they can get through it, but that is generally the assumption in the US. Essentially, any intersection where any direction may have to stop (traffic lights or 4-way stops), you can only enter if you can go all the way across. For intersections that are 1 or 2-way stops (i.e. there is a priority road), there will be a sign on the priority road saying you aren't allowed to block the intersection, if that is the requirement, otherwise you can go ahead.

And I find it a bit weird that the new housing areas have bicycle lanes on the main road as well as the residential looping roads, yet the asymmetrical roads that connect them don't have any. I can't remember, were you going to find a 1+2 asymmetrical road on the workshop, or how come you used the standard ones? And I was gonna point out to add in connecting bicycle paths close to the schools and quay for that reason, but you already did that 😅 37:00 that asymmetrical road in the middle of the screen is the wrong way round, isn't it? And 38:19 those residential loop roads could do with a connection to the bicycle network over the rail line. Yes, I'm really passionate about those bicycle paths.
