Draw the boundaries clearly and take a firm stand against your manager. Dont bow down and be a yes man. They will play with you. Immediately request for a manager change and get into a good team. Nothing is more valuable than your health and life.

For these reasons only I changed my profile from statutory audit to internal audit by joining industry. Even today my first preference will remain statutory. I have been diagnosed with high BP. One more thing you miss many of the auditee companies provide the data 15-20 days before the quarterly result is to be published now in this timeline many things to do like analysis, manager review, partner review, discussion with management etc. leaving effective working day to a less than a week this also increases a tremendous pressure on juniors. Data management also needs to be taken care of and should not be left at the leisure of the client.

Big 4?? Have anyone seen the work culture of some small organization? There is no time limit normally 9-8 is fixed, may extend also. And weekend? what is weekend, need to work even on Sundays also.. They have their own set of rules..

If you want some what free time and able to compromise some practical knowledge and if u want crazy practical knowledge and overall coverage of taxes choose audit. For exposure, I always prefer stat audit. Yes It was very tough and spolied my health
