Anytime you have a piece of gear that serves more then one use you have a winner. Looks like Big Agnes has taken a idea and improved it. Like you I did not want to inflate my mattress manually , especially considering the breath moisture that would get in there. Since i have a Neo Air I'm familiar with what Therm-A-Rest offered back many ( to many ) years ago. Therm-A-Rest had the same idea for their NeoAir and it is called a Air Pump ( bag). It's nothing more then a bag you fill with air and force the air into the mattress. I tried the Air Pump a couple of times and being lazy I found a easier way. I purchased a Camp-tex Microburst. It's a handy little battery powered infiltrator that works off of 2 AAA batteries. Even with the battery's installed it weighs 2.3 ounces. It takes about three minutes to inflate the mattress. It will do around 25 inflation's on one set of batteries and I only go for weekdays , Monday to Friday trips.

Very informative video. I just purchased one, but have not had a chance to practice. You saved me the trouble. 👍👍 It looks a little awkward, but, there have been several times I arrived at a camp, completely wasted, and had to inflate that darn pad! Ugh!! What I like about this product is the versatility of the bag. And, it weighs next to nothing.

It is awkward. But it's way easier than blowing it up. I just used it a few days ago. I still really like it.

I bet you could turn in inside out and use it to gather water for camp also. That would keep the inside dry. Nice review.

It'll also keep the condensation out of the pad. Which after time will cause mold. I've had a Thermarest for years and it is definitely moldy on the inside from blowing air into it.

Do you have a video on your sleep system? You mentioned a quilt, so I assume you dont use a sleeping bag.

I dont. Just pillows and pads. I use a golite ultra 20 quilt that I've had for about 11 or 12 years. I keep saying I'll get a new one each year but I haven't. Maybe eventually.

Ultralight Outdoors Right on. Well, I might be doing a 28.7 mile hike on the Lone Star hiking trail called the grand loop in a few months. Check it out when you get a chance. It’s in Richards, TX.

I've done about 30 miles of the LSHT years ago. Super wet trail. I may be interest depending on details. Also my schedule is going to change after the first of the year. I'll have to wait and see how it works out. Thanks for thinking of me.

Ultralight Outdoors Yeah, I have a tight schedule next year too. On top of work, I’m taking 3 night classes to finish this Music Degree. Spring Break would be the only available time really. I’m also interested in Mission Tejas area of the Davy Crockett National Forest.

@@jeremyboothe8620 I work 50 - 80 hours a week and go to school as well so I know what you mean about being busy. Its really hard to find time to get out. Doesn't happen near as much as it should. I'll keep all this in mind as Spring Break gets closer.

I would but it hasn't been made for years. So people wouldn't be able to buy it. It has been a great quilt. Maybe I'll be able to get a new one in the next year or two.
