Big Bear Eagle~Nate Goes Up To Big Bear Nest For Cam Maintenance! Moves Shadow's Pine Cone 😊 10.5.21

Nate Melling climbed up the nest tree this afternoon to perform some maintenance on the cams and audio. Views begin from cam2 showing Nate climbing up the tree! You can see how big the nest is and what a great job Shadow and Jackie have done on enlarging in over the previous seasons. When Nate gets ready to leave, his bag knocks Shadow's pine cone out of view of the nest - Nate picks it up and places it to the right hand side ♥ No doubt Shadow will notice the difference!! if you are Y and Have low body mass--Not that Difficult-- Nate has ropes and pully Arrangement to help him along--Although 175 ' is a long Climb.- Straight Up. From back of his shirt--he appears to be a Rock climber anyway.

It's great to see the relative size of the nest, it certainly is *big* and I remember Stickman (aka Shadow) and Jackie building it taller and taller the last 2 seasons: their stick tower 145 feet above the surface of the Earth where they have staked out their gorgeous territory. Jackie & Shadow are supreme architects as well as wonderful parents! I do love Big Bear, I learned to ski there (sort of) when I was a teenager about 100 years ago. Beautiful. The pine cone! Thank goodness he put this treasure back (Shadow will put it precisely where it belongs, along with every stick shifted even slightly from the "correct" spot😁, with Jackie's eagle eyes, sharp beak and talons making necessary corrections of course. Oh the squabbles will be hilarious - I can hardly wait! Thanks for this cool video, Ladyhawk!❤✌🏞🦅🦅🏞

@@sweetsongstress7398 By being careful like many of the other people who do this kind of work. It's just being aware of your body movements and what the consequences are from it. Like washing dishes. Some people don't know they are splashing water all over the counters, floors, upper cabinets or when someone is cooking and they make a mess every where only they are completely unaware of the mess they are making.

I know this video is a year old but I just within this most recent lost clutch of eggs learned to know of Jackie and Shadow and have loved them ever since so I just found this video somehow tonight. I have to say watching this video, I was absolutely brought to tears to see that others do in fact love these birds as much as some of us others do as well because this gentleman that made that hike to the top of that tree to do maintenance on this tree, not only did his stuff he had to do but took a couple old sticks that weren't legit out of the nest and also checked it for sharper objects that shouldn't be in there before he went back down. That literally made my whole month seeing him check for sharp objects that these birds are really loved as much by others as I love them. Very cool video. Oh, yea Nate I think they said your name was in other comments the gentleman that did the climbing to the top Thank You Sir for what you've done to this nestoration, but I must say Bro, stick to climbing trees because the testing, testing 123 audition Simon Cowell wouldn't have been very nice about ha-ha Just kidding man Just messing with ya.

That was quite the climb Nate made--I don't think I've seen this view of the tree before. I was surprised that Nate didn't try to fix the side of the nest where some rails got knocked off when he went into the nest. Jackie & Shadow now have their work cut out for them during nestorations. What a wonderful educational video this is to show people just how hard it is to get to the eagles nest and how high they are!!!. When people fuss about why they don't go to help eaglets in stress maybe they will realize how hard it can be to get to them now. At least I hope so. pam h--- Exactly-- This is why this separate ground Cam view is such a good idea--- for many it shows thing they were not aware of--wondering about--why thing were happening and the reason unclear. It seems likely that the " Diff. direction" the Eagle Pair came and landed was because of unusual wind Dir. to the Nest. Eagles like airplanes like to land "heading into the wind " for stopping ability and Max lift to the Nest.

@@pamhageerty2095 The Wright Brothers(Bicycle Mechanics from Toledo Ohio) figured all this stuff out with airplanes by watching how birds fly and incorporated their Basic "flying tools " like wing mechanics and tail function into the first powered aircraft flight @ kitty hawk in 1904. Our flight expert -- S is " the Best Bird Aviator ' i've seen and J is not far behind-- She recently --Landing within 2 inches of his head --He trusting her-- barely looked up at her when she landed. Good Ex of " Powered Flight " ending by landing " on a Dime"

Seeing this Nest View a few days ago was a Total Surprise to me.--- from prev. pan around esp to ground-- One does not get the Sense how apart this Nest tree from any around it-- And it's commanding View--Although we could sense some of that with shots out over the lake. --Great addition Cam perspective thanks FOBBY . Opp. for Cali on Nest highlights to show the "oddball " directions our Eagles sometimes come to the nest --Now we know there is One Tree---Open Sky and 360 Degree access.
