Even a few minutes prior to the shake, parent Eagle looks to be on high alert. The cam only capture him lifted off the nest right around the time when he detected the initial shake and we can't see what he did but seems to me that he didn't go perch anywhere as he quickly came back down on the nest again. Then mom flew back in to check on her babies, and dad took off for immediate patrol. This is a dedicated pair.

Do you think that the trophy hunters that go to Africa to kill lions (for example) are eating them? LOL. There is an obscene amount of species that hunters kill either just for the fun of it, or to stuff them to display them/mount their heads on their wall, etc. etc. And bald eagles are indeed extremely beautiful birds that make impressive stuffed creatures for the sick fucks that are into that shit!

In fact all of the wildlife around here was quiet. They sat still while it happened. Got up a few minutes after and went back to normal. They did the same during the big eclipse we had not too many years ago. Just gathered quietly and hunkered down, stayed quiet and still until it passed. Another funny video which shows how neat and tidy birds like to keep their nests is one on KZbin here called “Little Bird has a Poo-Trick,” on the channel named “A Chick Called Albert.” That isn’t an eagle, and is one the tiniest birds there is (outside of hummingbirds) - he’s also an orphan to boot - but even he knows the importance of keeping a clean home lmfao. Sorry I don’t have the link on me this second, or I woulda left it here too. ;)
That's because we're all very familiar with P.S. (Poop Shot) of Eaglets and Adults! And when tHa nestlings get bigger, so does their streams. Also when they get up in tHa night and it's pitch dark, and bend down, a lot of times tHa Mama's and Papa's get tagged! 😁 LoL

I imagine the conversation went something like this. Mom: earthquake, babies lay low im going to go find dad. Dad arrives: everyone ok Mom and dad discuss earthquake: now why again did you want to move here? Mom: well im going to go grab some water, can you get the fish ready Dad: sure no problem I totally got it. Mom: you sure? Dad: oh yeah! (Mom leaves) now how do u prepare the fish again?

Eagles nests of sticks, feathers, brush SO VERY HIGH withstands an earthquake, yet our buildings fall

For me, the terrifying part of our bigger earth quakes is the sound. Loma Prieta sounded like a freight train. You can usually hear them a couple of seconds before you feel them. With that one I thought our number was up.

I was in that one, and another 6.8 as a kid, my thought is 5.3 isn't much of a quake, in the bay area they are common occurrence, a couple a year seems like, this nest is still an engineering wonder, but a real shake would be something over 6.5

They all sound like a freight train.

@@NancyD2 True. But that one was the loudest I have heard in my life time. But then, it is also the biggest one I experienced and the one I have never gotten out of my head. I feel panic if I am stopped at a light under an underpass all these years later and I was not ever on road when that one hit. Like everyone else, I was home from work early to watch the World Series with our 2 local teams. We called it “The Bay Bridge Series.”…….

As soon as the nest starts shaking, Dad bails. It’s like he says “Nope. I’m out. I can make more of y’all”. 😂 Glad the nest held and they’re all okay.

He might have been checking to see if anything was shaking the tree.
@TexasLadyS Жыл бұрын
@@JasonMcChristian it’s possible. But I doubt it. An earthquake hits Southern California 7-10 times a day and you can usually feel and or hear them coming before the dishes start to rattle. Since he has probably lived his entire life in that area, and is over five years old, I’m going to bet that he knew what it was from the start. Probably just left the nest to check for damage near their tree.

The adult was like, “Peace our Kiddos! It was nice knowing ya!” The after it was over came back like, “Just kidding! I totally knew it was an earthquake all along.”
