Comparing this video with 3/18/24, I see an egg that didn't hatch. With the small soft spot under the eagle that has a rich blood supply, I can't help but wonder if only 1, maybe 2 eggs can be kept warm to hatch. It's great to see Spirit as an eaglet.

Yes 3 eggs may have been hard to incubate. I was wondering about moist content also, look at the lake level🤔

I was amazed at Spirit fluffing the pillow! well done! This baby learns fast and then when Spirit started wingxersising, Mom was like "ok time to start to learn to start those engine wings" and then Daddy Eagle comes home with the Piece of resistance The Stick! Wow! this was so cute to watch

This nest is so nice to watch. Jackie is so talkative,Shadow is so funny and the two have a very nice interaction going. Spirit's personality has developed big time and maybe it's because it's a singleton. Other nests with the sibling rivalry that can become so intense and even deadly are so hard to watch sometimes. This nest also has a very beautiful setting with the view and sound of the water though the architectural design of the nest itself seems a bit haphazard!

I agree 100%! I do enjoy a single eaglet. Maybe it's because it can be less stressful, but I started watching with E9 at SWFL, and that has always stood out for me. Then Simba at this nest was very much like E9 (even though it was a tragedy they lost one eaglet, Angel Cookie early on). The parents are wonderful at both nests, and now I also enjoy watching Samson & Gabrielle at NEFL. Last year was one eaglet there too ;)

The name Spirit is Beautiful .. Suits H/S down to a T.. also would love to mention that watching carefully there were many many special moments between Spirit and Mum Jackie.. Hi D.M. - I'm watching this 2 weeks after it was made and Spirit is now on 4/25 about as big as his/her parents! At one part he's sitting down on a stump in front of Jackie - legs dangling down - clown feet on ground - looks so cute! Spirit mimics its parents - at times right away and as others have said is learning so fast. In some ways it's great to be an only eaglet - all the attention is on it and it receives all of the food and nourishment - no sharing with a sibling. Thanks! - Stephanie

I saw portion of a clip where she wing slapped Shadow for trying to move or touch the egg, then incubated it! To me Spirit is different in more ways than one than past eaglets this age.
