Sadly, Gakuen Alice and M & N were never finished in English as they were being published when Tokyo Pop closed. I have about half of Gakuen Alice and it pains me everytime I look at it because I know (atleast for now) it'll never be finished in English.

it’s similar to an omnibus, there seems to average about 20-25 chapters per book and there’s 88 chapters in chobits so i assume 4 books total :)

Portrait of M & N was cancelled by Tokyopop, so there's just 4 volumes in English. The manga is complete with 6 volumes in Japan. 😭 Of course, Tokyopop cancelled Gakuen Alice too at volume 16, so that's about half the series which is complete with 31 volumes in Japan... GA is an amazing series, but not many people know that because it's not close to complete in English (it was also cancelled in Spain and Germany!) and the anime is terrible imo. I often get sad thinking about all of this lmao. 😞

@@cheyennewagner6415 The animation was atrocious, the tone was too childish and it didn't even get far in adapting the manga. I can't quite remember if it was faithful to the story, but my gut feeling says "not likely" haha. To be fair, I have a loooong list of anime adaptations I dislike.

@@nobutasu I understand, it was actually faithful to the story except for a few minor details and the last few episodes were changed from the manga in order to end the series as it was only 26 episodes long I really wished it was longer because the manga got really interesting later on. There are quite a few anime adaptions I didn't like myself like Orange, the anime didn't match the manga's tone and atmosphere in my opinion.
