Do you ever get scared being that close to the edge of the rocks? Awesome fish
@AnglingAddictsPNW3 жыл бұрын
Most definitely!! The power of the ocean should never be underestimated. I’m always paying attention to the waves since they, at times, coincide with when I’m typically getting bites. There are always one or two that are WAY bigger than all the rest. I always have a quick escape route but the ocean will do whatever it wants. All I can do is balance caution with carelessness and hope the risk pays off.

@AnglingAddictsPNW3 жыл бұрын
I very rarely descale my black rockfish, I just take the skin off after I fillet them. Most of the time I fillet them without having to gut them. I’m all for less work, just another reason I don’t like putting in the effort to descale.... but, if I were to descale it I would do it first. You don’t want that scaly mess all up in your meat

do you put sent on your swimbait? can you recommend one
@AnglingAddictsPNW3 жыл бұрын
a lot of the time i do put scent on but really it's just because i smoke and i don't want that smell to keep fish from biting. Shrimp, Anchovy, Anise are the 3 that i usually have but i can't really recommend one over the other and i'm not sure if it actually helps, unless it is dark and you wan't some sort of scent for a fish to be able to follow what it can't see very well.. It's worth having and using, whether it actually helps or not.. can't hurt right?

So before you cook your fish do you check them over for worms?I hear a lot of different stuff about them.That you got to soak them to make the worms come out some people say to just cook the fish and it kills any parasites.Was just curious to your approach on it.
@AnglingAddictsPNW3 жыл бұрын
If it’s not something that I see pretty quick then I don’t worry about it, knowing that cooking it will kill anything. I really don’t like investigating my meat too much, it kills my appetite lol.
