Spring Catfishing is here and boy do I have zero clue what I'm doing in Spring for catfish. Lots to learn about this time of year and catfish behavior and patterns. Got a very solid blue to end a slow day.

What area of the country? I've landed at least a 60+ but we didn't weight it, just know from past experience it was well over 45-50

Where you are is my favorite Blue catfish spot in Middle Tennessee. I’m a Bank Fisherman so I go to Rockland Recreation Park and use my surf roads to hit the deep channel that you were fishing in. 10-40 lb Blues all day long!!

I love bank fishing at Rockland. Been doing that for a long time. The park area, I think, is still closed off since the tornadoes last December sadly. They opened the boat ramp back up but I've not checked if you can even get back behind the dam or not. Before I started recording the fishing, I landed my biggest blue ever not too far from the dam, 46lb blue. I need to go hit it up again, great fishing spot. Just wish they'd open the park back up because it has so much shoreline for bank fishing.

@@castandtrail You are absolutely correct, one of the best fishing spots ever. The city of Hendersonville is working on getting the funding together to tackle the clean up and restoration project, so hopefully within a year or so we can return.

Go shallow! If you have everything spawning, catfish follow them in to eat the eggs. I'm from East Texas, just this past weekend I caught 6 eaters, 2 10#ers, and a 14#er within about 20 minutes in two feet of water around grass and stumps.
