Hey Doug, Enjoy watching your videos out here in Oklahoma. I came across your KZbin channel a couple of months ago while watching Brad Owens and kevin Fischl poker vlogs. Got to play at Capitol a couple of times with my dad about 3 years ago. I told him about your vlog. He said he knew ya and that your a great guy! Shout out from Judge Jerry B and his son Steve...

thanks for the vlog - rough second day but they happen and I would have called with the A2 as well but one thing to keep in mind is that deuces are the only second pair that can be counter fitted 100% of the time when the board pairs and then you have kicker issues ;) .

Agreed, I played the hand for the nutted flush draw, but once I hit the flop, the money is going in. It was not surprising to get a bad run out, it happens, but it was a good spot to get the money in. 58% equity in a 3 handed pot is something I can live with.

He was almost calling, a smaller bet he would call for sure. He said I will let you have it with your 9T of clubs. JJ with 2 players behind me on a wet low flop is nothing but trouble. So Doug, a little tip, This is one from Bart Hanson . When you bet flop and turn for the same value, aka KdQc hand - it is almost always a weak hand. If I saw you bet flop for $15, then bet turn for $15 I am going to raise as I am pretty confident that your hand has been relegated in value by the turn card. If you think about it, it's technically a downbet with respect to the size of the pot, why would anyone downbet the turn??? It makes no sense.
@dougmccuskerpoker3 жыл бұрын
This player was totally new to casino poker, played crazy. He would call down with air and monsters. I wanted to keep the betting lead with my marginal made hand with equity so that he wouldn’t bet bigger if I checked. He only raised with his nutted hands, So I was naming my own price against his strong hands and charging something on the weak ones. Normal players, I would never use this line.

Ouch on the AK hand but let this be a reminder to anyone watching that when we do actually make our premium hands, to maximize value and bet BIG. You could have easily had AA/KK/AKspades/AQ here but opponent too in love with his hand to fold (he actually made horrible calls). Although funny enough, if you did have an overpair I don't think you'd actually play it this way (I know I wouldn't...), so it actually reminds me to bet often and bet big when you aren't super deep and don't be afraid of getting called by better.

@dougmccuskerpoker3 жыл бұрын
$26 bet is not spazzing, he was blocking, not letting him draw to a 2 outer. If he had a flush draw or 89 for a straight draw, he could spaz for his stack. No cheep draws, I just got caught bluffing the last hand, he could call me light.

Your range bets are too large imo. A half pot bet makes it easier (and correct) to fold many unpaired hands and pairs smaller than 2nd pr, especially on unconnected boards with few draws. JJ hand: Many situations where someone has bet pot, you said it screamed bluff. This time it screamed 2 pr+? So many draws and pr plus draw on this board. Unless this player never bets top pair or draws, I think you need to call at least once. (I know I would bet both from the blinds bc it puts you in a bad spot.) KQ on AQx: This is not a 3 street hand. X turn and xc otr imo. AA: I think the jam was a mistake. If you're behind, you're drawing to an A or h. If you're ahead, you want a call. A2s: you played it fine. 58% against 2 players is huge.
