I think the reason your having to cook them for longer than usual is that the it needs to be plugged in before you start putting the food (e.g. Sandwiches) in, because it needs to preheat. That's what the lights on top of the sandwich maker are for. Its possible that this is the problem that caused the waffles not to cook properly.

1. You should have preheated the toaster before putting the bread in. 2. All toasters needs to be crambed down, it's easier if the toaster is hot. 3. Maybe you're slices of bread are too thick. It's most likely designed to standard sandwichbread.
@LiveFraBremenstyrer10 жыл бұрын
BTW. I made waffles yesterday on a very old waffle machine and that was a piece of cake. Didn't even take 5 minuttes. Make the batter from scratch but seperate the eggs and whisk the eggwhites. it makes them alot more fluffy.

I own the Big Boss Grill... the waffle batter was definitely too much, you admit to never making waffles before, so I have to wonder, did you use the directions that came with it or the ones on the box of Pancake/Waffle mix? and did you pre-heat the grill like it says to... (notice the green and red lights on the top... the green light comes on when you plug it in, the red light comes on when it's ready to use...) as for the sandwiches, you CAN use butter on the bread instead of spraying the plates, much better flavor. and for the thickness of the bread... I would suggest thinner slices of bread instead of the 2" thick slices you've used *yeah, it might be tasty bread but the machine DOES have limits...

When I was using mom's old electric waffle iron for my wife & kids, I'd pre-heat it real good first. Then brush with oil & let it get hot again, briefly. Be sure batter isn't too thick or too thin. A bit thinner than pancake batter. I ladled the batter in evenly, then close it for a few minutes. Great every time.
@SamMcSmiley8 жыл бұрын
I think your waffles would have worked better if you plugged it directly into the wall. I think that white extension cord has too much resistance. Your grill might not get full heat.

hey jack, i know this is old, but non stick on anything doesnt mean food wont stick. non stick is meant to be used with a little bit of butter or oil whereas on steel pans you would use more oil or butter to make food not stick. the non stick surface is just to make it easier for food to not stick.
@matthewnakhla8 жыл бұрын

The fail of the waffles can have 2 reasons. 1. You didn't preheat the Big Boss Grill. This will ofc take longer for the waffles to cook proberly . 2. Opening the lid before the waffles are done (For example too early, if you forgot the preheat), makes them break appart, as the batter is still sligtly gooey and not cooked all the way through. I'm very sure the machine can cook waffles pretty well, if you next time remember the preheat and avoid opening the lid too early. - Louisa from Denmark
