Great coverage. I filmed it on the way to Des Moines from my starting point in Norway, IA.

Good videography. Not panning rapidly. Not zooming wildly. Keeping peripheral noise down. Very interesting side activities. Nice all around work. Thanx for posting your experience.

Believe me I worked my ass off for some of those shots. I knew I had to get it right on the first try. You can't exactly ask the train crew to back up and do it again. You got to get it right on the first try.

Your sister has a good eye for the power transmission components at 11:50. I don't know how old she is, but she should seriously consider studying Mechanical Engineering, she obviously has potential !!

As imagens são apaixonantes! É impressionante ver locomotivas tão especiais restauradas e com essa performance! Parabéns a todos pela iniciativa.

I guess that means the following?: "The images are exciting! It's amazing to see such special locomotives restored and performing! Congratulations to all for the initiative." "Obrigado" Portuguese for thank you? Google translate is not the best.

Hey FutureRail, throughout 4014's Midwest tour (in which the 4-8-8-4 is by itself), has the giant yet done what it was known for with the amount of tractive effort by shaking the earth of course? :D
@FutureRailProductions5 жыл бұрын
Yes. I was a witness to it when it came through Boone the first time.

Hey, now 4014 is finishied, they will restore the 3985 our not???
@FutureRailProductions5 жыл бұрын
Unknown at the moment. Last I knew that was the plan, but apparently the rumor mill is saying no. I would recommend keeping an eye on the official UP social medias. Hopefully we'll find out soon.

3985 needs a 15 year inspection and a rebuild that will take about 4 years.
@FutureRailProductions5 жыл бұрын
Exactly. Thanks, Cygnus.
@thefitchemist21235 жыл бұрын
No problem, there are admittedly conflicting stories about what exactly is going on but the overhaul makes a lot of sense. 3985 hasn’t ran in almost 10 years but you gotta figure a lot of that had to do with getting 4014 up and running along with the aforementioned overhaul. Time will tell, personally I can’t see them just abandoning 3985. That seems sacrilegious

Hi from Green Bay we have UP BB ,#4017 at Natl.RR.Musm., since 1961; UPRR classic slogan "We can handle it"; this shows American know how; now we can build new rockets to the moon, and spaceships to Mars.

Steven Solway I remember seeing that locomotive during my summer vacation back in 2005! Never thought I’d see another BB until I read about 4014 visiting West Chicago! Forgot just how long these engines are. Sheesh!
