The men depicted were shown as handsome and strong, and the song highlighted the desire for some women to feel like the “little spoon,” and to be held by larger arms. It’s SNL, so yeah, it is making jokes (such as the sleep apnea bit) but like many of the SNL music videos, it is deriving humor from expressing a silly yet relatable feeling. The other week they had a video about being an introvert who is left alone by a friend with another introvert and while it made fun of people being introverted it was also striving to relate to the introverts who know there is truth in the lyrics. Anyway - I recently lost 50 lbs which has me feeling healthier and more confident but I appreciate the song pointing out that there do exist plenty of women who dig bigger dudes.
