What I really love about this fight is that the Doctor is pretty much always on the defensive, never attacking Rick outright and even hesitating when bringing up the D-Mat. I love it when DB makes in-character moments like this.

They say the first thing you notice about the Doctor is that he’s unarmed. For many, it’s also the last.

Fun fact: Elliott Crossley played The Doctor in this one who is a very famous David Tennant impersonator And he actually voiced the Doctor in an official Doctor Who podcast called Doctor Who: Lockdown Which means they technically got the official VA for the Doctor for this episode which is really cool

You're not a nerd for saying "Run", that is one of the best lines in all of Dr. Who! Especially when you remember that the PREVIOUS incarnation told humans that the next time an alien showed up on Earth, he would just tell them to run away!

I had a feeling you were a Doctor Who fan considering you referenced Time Lords in a previous video. But didn’t know you were also a Rick and Morty fan as well. Yeah, Rick would win a good amount of his other match ups, but the Doctor is just on a totally different level. Even before this episode was announced, the vs community was unanimous in that the Doctor would stomp this fight. This was one of my most wanted match ups prior to its announcement and I’m happy it was done justice. A neat little detail in this fight is that the Doctor won without even attacking Rick once. Everything he did was purely defensive in response to Rick’s attacks. And if you’re curious, the soundtrack for this fight is called “Wubba-Lubba-Allons-y” by Therewolf Media if you want to give it a listen. Oh, and to answer your question earlier in this episode, “Midnight” is my second favorite episode of Doctor Who. Very underrated in my opinion and happy to know you enjoy it too. My top favorite episode though is “Heaven Sent”. Which is a 12th Doctor episode. Anyway, enjoyed your reaction and hope you do more of these!

Ahh, I’ve heard that Peter Capaldi was a good Doctor but sometimes let down by bad writing, but I’ve been told that I should watch his run as the Doctor all the way through 🔥
@muffetmissulena6540Ай бұрын
@@Rykage_Peter is my favorite Doctor. His pure charisma and passion for the role is what really makes him shine as The Doctor. He alone can salvage even the worst scripts. Though there are still a ton of good episodes in his run. Though I personally couldn’t handle Whittaker’s run with Chibnall as the show runner.

The reason why Morty didn't realize who Rick was in the end of the battle is because the De-Mat gun erases their entire existence. That means that Rick never would have every existed. Though then that brings everything else into question because if Rick never existed, then he never would have had Beth who never would have had Morty; the Ship never would have been built...all that mumbojumbo.

Fun fact, the general consensus about this matchup was that not only ddoctor win but he stomps, Rick literally can't do anything to win, death battle nerfed the doctor for him to have a chance Imagine how fast the battle would have ended if they removed the doctor's pacifism , and chosen a more brutal doctor like the war doctor or the 7th doctor, wnd included all of his lore from books, novels , comics and audio stories

I can’t say I’m that versed on The Doctors lore, but I can well imagine he’s an absolute weapon when he needs to be, giving all of his lore

Ah yes, a very rare instance in which Death Battle correctly used a pacifist character. Highlights time again! Season 4! -Scrooge McDuck vs. Shovel Knight -Power Rangers vs. Voltron -Ace vs. Natsu (though there are spoilers for both series…) -Balrog vs. TJ Combo -Shredder vs. Silver Samurai -Smokey Bear vs. McGruff the Crime Dog -Naruto vs. Ichigo (but, again, massive spoilers) -And you’ve already seen Vergil vs. Sephiroth

I don't really like this one. It feels like there's a distinct lack of understanding of the Doctor in general. For example, weaponizing his Regeneration was a thing he did ONCE, under very specific circumstances, with nothing to suggest he can or will do it any other time. Yes, the Doctor would win this, but it wouldn't play out anywhere near this way.
@Mohammedamine9.Ай бұрын
The doctor didn't weaponize his regeneration in this fight tho
@thegrouchizationАй бұрын
Even if he doesn't explicitly weaponise it, it has been shown multiple times (at least in the Revival series) that Regeneration releases a lot of energy which can have destructive consequences. It makes perfect sense for him to use it the way he does in the scenario shown in the episode.

I think my favourite episode of New Who was Father’s Day from Season 1. As far as Tennant’s run goes I think The Girl In The Fireplace is probably my favourite but there’s a lot of contenders. Father Of Mine was wrapped and trapped in some burning chains for eternity or something like that. The Doctor was ruthless in that episode.

@@Rykage_ Well since we've seen Sephiroth, why not continue with Yang vs Tifa
@muffetmissulena6540Ай бұрын
@@Rykage_I personally think Yang vs Tifa has aged pretty badly (animation wise and scaling wise). Especially since the team has acknowledged that upon retrospection, their verdict was incorrect. I think Weiss vs Mitsuru (Persona) and Blake vs Mikasa (Attack on Titan) are more up to date and just better episodes. And in their Kickstarter, Death Battle has confirmed that Ruby vs Maka (Soul Eater) is an episode they’re working on.
