I have a pond like that in Ontario Canada that produces brookies just that size, 1-4lbs, and they actually look the same too, same dimensions and colours, and not all specs look like that. I might have to go NOW, actually a week. Looks like good times, good day!

I fished this pond 3 times this spring/summer didn't catch anything of serious size. I did see on 20+ inch fish follow my lure right to the boat though. Thought fish of that size were an anomaly there. I guess I was mistaken haha.
@PineStateHunter2 жыл бұрын
Funny story, We fished it this summer also and didn't catch anything over 8" inches. Not sure what happened. I'll have Eric get back to you about the fish finder. Thanks for watching.
@iancarpenter54882 жыл бұрын
@@PineStateHunter It certainly gets fished hard, of all the places I fished this year it was the one that showed the most consistent signs of usage by other anglers. Makes me wonder if perhaps some anglers "forgot" about the special regulations on this body of water.

How quick the 14 inch brook trout become just a small one. Nice fish.

Yea, When I was fishing from shore last week 14" brookies was the highlight.

wondering what you guys would recommend for a canoe mounted fish finder set up. i've never rigged one up and was thinking that it might be fun to try. thanks.
@PineStateHunter Жыл бұрын
I don't have any mount in particular, just the portable pack. Portable carrying case PTC U2. Hope that helps Ethan.

@@PineStateHunter thanks. any particuliar type of fish finder that you like?
@PineStateHunter Жыл бұрын
@@Ethan-MelissaHallTheHallFarm If I had to go back and do it again right now I would go with the Garmin panoptics. Or at the very least mid to top of the line garmin, then piece panoptics in later on.

Nice trout! I am new to fishing out of my canoe and am trying to figure trolling out...are you guys using sinkers or lead core? If sinkers, how much of a leader do you run from the weight to the spoon?
@PineStateHunter Жыл бұрын
When we're fishing from the canoe we run about 2.5 to 3 ft of leader from the Sinker to the spoon. The Lead Core would work as well, I just don't like hiking in more than I need. Some of places we go are over a mile

Love the videos! Just curious where do you buy the monkey puke? I’ve been looking for it and can’t seem to find it.
@PineStateHunter Жыл бұрын
Most bait and tail shops carry them but they sell out about as fast as they come in. You can also google "monkey puke spoons." Lots of online places sell different variations of them. Thanks for watching.

Do you use braided line? If so do you use a fluorocarbon leader? Tight lines 🎣🎣🎣
@PineStateHunter3 жыл бұрын
Yep we use 10 lb or 12 lb braid with 10 lb fluorocarbon leader around 30 ft

I fished a pond almost the same size as this and tried trolling it but the bottom is full of weeds. How do you keep your trolling setup off bottom?
@PineStateHunter3 жыл бұрын
We run into the same problem. 3 things you can try. 1. Change the size of your sinker or lure. 2. Increase your travel speed. 3. Have less line in the water. Play around with it until you get the right combo.

where is this pond? i’m in maine right now on Rangeley lake and fishing isn’t great. tried looking for good lakes but i don’t know any.
@PineStateHunter6 ай бұрын
Sorry, we give out locations. If you are in the Rangeley area, Mooselookmeguntic has salmon and trout. Also Lac Aziscohos has both trout and salmon. If you are looking for smaller ponds for trout, Sandy river ponds or Haley might be an potion. Hope that helps.

It looks like trout pond out behind cold stream pond but who knows, I’d keep it a secret as well. I just got all geared up and bringing the kayaks to two different ponds this weekend, I know it’s still early up here in Penobscot county but I’m anxious and if I don’t go,I’ll never know!
