Is this Maine's SMALLEST NATIVE TROUT POND? Ice Fishing

DISCLAIMER: We shot this video last ice fishing season. Before we fished it we called the Maine Game Warden service to make sure it was legal. After being transferred several times and long holds, an officer came on and said he was familiar with the pond and it was in fact legal to ice fish. If it was on private property and we were asked to leave we would have to leave.
Shortly after posting the video we were informed that any lake or pond smaller than 10 acres falls into the same category as the brook or stream that feeds it and therefor is closed to ice fishing UNLESS its on private property.

Great video!!! I am very familiar with this pond, and I live about 5 minutes away from it. I only fly fish it with barbless hooks to try to keep the fish as healthy as possible, but I end up losing a lot of them, LOL. I don't think there are any baitfish in that pond at all. the most I've caught there is 10 in a single day. I usually catch them on attractor streamer patterns, like a small kreelex minnow or an orange wooly bugger. these fish are the spookiest fish I've ever fished for, after about 30 min to an hour of fishing there they just stop biting. Thank you for releasing these fish and protecting them by doing that. Again, great video. thanks.

Check with your local law enforcement first. Needs to be completely private to fish it if it’s smaller than ten acres in Maine.

I know of a pond in Maine that is almost a small or may even be the same size or smaller that is right full of native brook trout 100 guaranteed never been stopped and it don't get many visitors at all I haven't been there in a few years but I've heard it's getting even smaller as time goes because it is being taken over by vegetation what is too bad
