Amen brother 🙏🙌! I had it last year where I was going to sit in my pop-up line in that small voice told me to go to my tree stand and I understood why. I had a nice Buck spook me the year before right behind my pop-up blind and he would have done the same thing if I would have been there. He was out of range when he came in but I waited 2 hours and caught him bedded down in a thick area and made the shot.

What scent, if any, do you use for the mock scrape? You are very high in the tree and that seems to be an advantage for bow hunting. About how high up do you like to go? Great job Sean! How early do you sneak in with the climber for an urban hunt like that? Do you worry about the wind in urban areas?

This hunt was technically not urban zone. It was out in the country. However, the strip of woods goes around the house and barn and on either side of the strip of woods are large crop fields. Due to the layout of the woods you’re actually forced to hunt in relative close proximity to the buildings. That said, in a situation like this, I try to get in and set up an hour before daylight, hoping to be set up and still before the majority of deer filter back into the woods from the fields. In general I like to be set up an hour before daylight

I used Jute rope. Originally hung it so it was 4 feet from the ground but with rain and all it shrank so now it’s almost 5 feet but still working well. I did not put any deer scent on the scrape. Just scraped away the weeds with a stick and my boot and they started hitting it the same day

@seansoutdoors I had a hoyt RX-5 for two seasons took my first deer last year. This past April I had pec major tendon repair and had to sell to pay for the surgery. I miss shooting it but have been looking at the mathews vxr, phase 3, and v3x. Not sure how it would handle with the lack of confidence in my pec performance. That is a beautiful buck congrats.
