Me, my dad, and my stepfather run a micro farm in South Slovakia, when i tell you it's small, it is TINY, we don't have a harvester, but have all the things we need to get the job done, my dad's tractor is a Zetor Major 6911(69hp, 11 means rear wheel drive, diesel) and my stepfather's tractor is a Zetor Crystal 8911(89hp, rear wheel drive, diesel). That's all😁

Impressive machine, but unfortunately it's only causing damage to the land. Tilling ruins the soil composition, dries it out and deprives it of nutrients. This is turning previously rich soil into literally a desert around here. No till is the way to go. Policulture is even better. In my country the best wheat is grown using a no till method, without artificial fertilizers (which distort the protein in the grain). As a result of factory farming methods, the nutrient density in our crops is 60-200 times LESS than it used to be in the 1950s.

But at Northern Manufacturing, they designed things with enough safety factor built in to them to last. Greg, and Dale you helped build a monster tractor that has worked and lasted! Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, both of the Dakotas, Iowa, Montana. I’m not very knowledgeable with machines but I swear the vid I seen of the 150 case steam engine cud damn near keep up with this modern massive fucking tractor for ploughing. It was going much slower but if they had the ppl not standing on the 50’ plough and instead had more plough to pull I swear it wud be pulling the same 80’ plough just with less speed. I think if they made some changes to the original design of the 150 case steam engine and made some adjustments to the plough the 150 case steam engine wud be able to do the same work as this modern tractor.
@UltraMagaFan
@UltraMagaFan Жыл бұрын
@@baileydombroskie3046 That’s the dumbest shit I’ve ever heard. There’s no way in hell a Case 150 traction engine would be able to keep up with any modern tractor. They go 2 miles per hour pulling a 50’ wide plough. That Big Bud does 7 miles per hour while pulling a 80’ wide plough. It’s vastly superior and it’s not even the fastest tractor.
@baileydombroskie3046

@@UltraMagaFan they made a new world record for ploughing with the case 150 traction engine last year. They made a 50 forrow 60' plough and it was just putting along. It's so small and heavy of a tractor yet has so damn much power.
@UltraMagaFan
@UltraMagaFan Жыл бұрын
@@baileydombroskie3046 Yeah the thing is powerful, it makes 5000 foot pounds of torque, but it’s too damn slow. It moves at 2 miles per hour. Modern tractors can go 7+ miles per hour. The slow speed is the main reason traction engines aren’t used anymore.

@@robertstetson4077 you sure need headphones in this thing, because else your hearing will get permanent damaged. The owner did spend alot of money to keep this thing running, so i would have welded a new cab over the excisting one with double windows and insulate the engine itself and buy some exhaust mufflers that silence the engine some more. Anyway, i would go crazy when i would have to ride in this thing for just a single day as it is right now.

This is amazing. I grew up in the northeast on a hardscrable farm. We had a 13 horse John Deere to work the land. After a few decades I bought a 32 horse Massey Ferguson to take over. The power steering was a great change. I could park all my equipment in the tire rut this beast makes. That 3000 acre field pretty mind blowing since 40 acres is the most I've ever worked. It's a whole different animal out there. Amazing!!!

Certainly still needs more sound proofing from what I observed & heard. She's still far too loud to be sitting in there cranking along, without wearing additional hearing protection for 8 to 12+ hours at a time. Also need to update the cab with a better modern rear facing camera setup for seeing what's going on behind ya & for hitching up implements. I wonder if that old relic of a camera currently mounted at the rear, and the mini-tv, are still functional anymore? Regardless, I'm sure its picture quality is garbage. I'm all for keeping things original, but sometimes certain modern updates to any machine are very needed, for the health and well-being of the operator.

Dave Crupel the reason I say that is we had a driverless orchard tractor in 1974 (Massey Fergusson). Although it was primitive by today's standards, driverless technology is advancing rapidly. Although this huge tractor is a bit of a big boy's toy, I'm sure someone in the US could make a battery version of it.

What a monster! No such thing as having to have computer codes to work on this one. This ain't nothing like the 7-bottom chisle plow I pulled driving a Case 1030 for my dad in the early 70s. He finished out his farming life in the mid-80s with an articulated Case 4890. And we thought the 4890 was a hoss. He saved that tractor for himself mostly while I was on a JD 6030 (the first tractor I drove with a cab, a/c, and am/fm radio) pulling 10 foot off-set and 20 foot leveling harrows. Thought I'd died and gone to heaven. Tractors, combines and implements have come a long way since I left the farm in the early 80s. Took up flying and made a career out of aviation, which was way more fun.

@@RoisinT2 you had said it needs a V8. The engine is a 16V92 made by Detroit Diesel. They only made castings up to a V8. Detroit needed ways to make more power for industrial applications and cast all of their engines to bolt together into each other. The "Buzzin Dozen" I used to drive was 2-6V71's bolted together to make a 12 cyl engine. This tractor is 2-8V92's bolted together. 8=8 cyl, V=v shaped block, 92= number of cubic inches per cyl.
