Big Bull Moose Practice Fighting, it's Called Sparring
Only two weeks away from Alaska Adventure #9. I simply can not convey how thankful I am to be going back. I’m sure Libby feels the same way. We work hard to be able to pull this off every year, but when it comes right to it, it’s a blessing and a life dream come true.
Let’s dig into today’s video, we’re excited to bring this one to you. Our question to all of you today is
“What do you like best our your experience here?” We hope that the question sparks some great conversation.
Today’s movie is all about sparring, and that part of the rut can be quite entertaining for us but for the moose, it’s very important and we’re sure that within the bodies of the moose doing it, there are complexities and behaviors that only they know. We think that is so cool.
We will be bringing fresh new adventure soon and the goal is to provide an exciting experience for all of us.
Thanks for watching our channel, we are the husband/wife team of Rick and Libby Libbey, (Libby squared), New Hampshire wildlife photographers (and part time Alaska.) It is our passion to document wildlife of any kind, but moose are definitely at the top. In New Hampshire we spend a lot of our spring/summer hours in kayaks photographing loons and moose in the waters of New Hampshire. And hike many miles in Alaska seeking all manner of wildlife in the fall.

Thanks Tricia! We love the sparring and it's much safer to film than a fight! It's fun watching how they go about the initiation of the sessions, especially the ritual of the younger bulls asking the older bulls permission to stick around and spar. And yes! 2 weeks 1 day!
