They were on tv about 1986 I think. I was in a show called Forty Minutes and showed them making their first record. I think it was an EP. The producer was awful and out of all their amazing repertoire chose ‘Fish on a Plate’. I thought Dilly Keane was going to kill him and for the cover they were in red crinoline type dresses, it was awful seeing them so miserable. I have been their fan ever since but have only managed to see them live once. My husband did not want to go, but at the end he did not want to leave. Wonderful, clever and talented women. Love you FC x x x

I've seen FA just the once, at the Lyceum if memory serves. I'd not heard of them and was staying with friends in Chiswick, must've been the early 90s as I'd only just been diagnosed with HIV and was feeling decidedly doom laden. So my friends dragged me along ...... and oh my word, I was gasping for air, they were tremendous. As I recall the line up then was Dilly, Adele and Izzy Van Randwycke. They are sharp witted intelligent and incredibly funny and it's a joy to see they're still going strong.

Hi there, Fascinating Aida. If you like, please use the modern version I've just come up with to reprise the song I've just heard. (By the way, well done, Adele). Big C... used to be cancer, you'll agree. But now it is twenty-twenty, big C.... Big C? you've guessed it Covid starts with 'C', (though quite coincidentally)... big C. So at home we're isolating, while outside the world is waiting to restart. Are we social distancing? Well, here's the thing, most people genuinely aren't. If you go outside and cough, folks around will bugger off, afraid of you. Though it might be just dyspepsia or some other kind of far less lethal flu. Big C (big C, big C) has changed it's meaning obviously, while it still looms portentously, big C Big C, the second one for you and me, to stuff our lives up completely, big C. [The bridge, and most of the rest of the song, can stay exactly the same. Yes, we never learn.] [But how about this to end on:] Big C, now pubs are opening let's see, if people can act sensibly (some hope) Big C Big C, now let's invoke the 'rule of three', what is the third catastrophe? It's bound to begin with 'C'!

Please let your friend know that if it were to return (as it has for me) but won’t for her I am sure, than she will still win the fight by shining the light of love in her life! As I am sure she does! Remain happy 😊 and strong 💪 love Nerida.

The thing that used to get on my nerves after my cancer treatmemt was when, at work everyone was aware that I was weakened and exhausted because I was on lighter duties, and they thought they were being helpful by saying "You're looking well, though." I really had to resist saying "Well whoop-de-fucking-doo, that's alright, then".

Can't believe I'm admitting to this, but when Adele sings the line "when you have growths as big as gourds you may want to go to Lourdes" I was initially confused (for embarrassingly long time actually) because I couldn't figure out what cancer had to do with the Home of Cricket (Lords)! lol
