I think it’s good to interview a lot of guys. A lot of guys have different experiences. The bears can ask them questions about their bad past and get their answers and use that as a piece of the puzzle for the guy they end up picking. Don’t see it as a negative the more people they interview

If they don't cast a wide net then they'll get criticized for not doing their due diligence. Remember, Poles was hired two days before Eberfluss, so what input did he have. Do you remember the list of candidates in 2022? Dan Quinn and Jim Caldwel... So they looked at three candidates altogether. That didn't work out.

Too many cooks in the kitchen is an apt description. At some point it becomes counterproductive. You can actually talk to too many guys and miss out on deeper dives for better candidates. They've known this is coming Thanksgiving, the list should be concise and focused. We want due diligence, but that should have started in early December. We also want depth in the search. More and more candidates equals less and less time to dive deep into the next head coach that will leave us hopeful but unsatisfied yet again because God hates us. "We never knew about the flaw in the new HC because we were busy talking to the WR coach of The Citadel for the position. Looks like we missed some deep-seated red flags there. Turns out, if you get him talking about religion even a little, he is proud to tell you that he eats babies to steal their life force, then threatens their mothers will a tire iron. Yeah, none of us could tell it was Trestman wearing a funny nose with a mustache and glasses." (I'm of the opinion that he probably eats human babies.)
